How familiar are you with these? That is to say, what is the typical quality/pricing of the cabinets they have?

I haven't been in about ten years. Back in the day I used to get a couple of cabinets for $100 (Shinobi, Gunsmoke, Final Fight, WWF Superstars) ...

It really depends on what you are looking for. More modern and advanced games cost more.

If you bring an electrical cord you can hook up the games and try them out to make sure they work.

Wish I still lived in NC for this. Prices on the west coast are 5x higher for arcade games

I went to this auction for years, and was constantly amazed with the mix of old, new, great condition and bargain bin games available.

Huh. Wish they had more information about what they will be offering in the upcoming auction. I'd be interested to know if they might have any NeoGeo MVS hardware. Always wanted a Street Fighter Alpha 2 machine as well, but don't currently have a place for it...

^^dude, thats the whole point. It's still an old school auction.

If they posted detailed information about what's there, all the shithead internet hawks would show up and drive up the prices.

No information means lazy nerds don't go, which means good deals for the rest of us (at least for the years I went).

how much would something like Tekken Tag Tournament or Ultimate MK 3 go for?

I would expect those to be more expensive ones. I have no idea the price today but ten years ago those would go for 250-500 from what I remember.

If you check the auctiongamesales website it explains that they don't know what they are going to have that weekend until Friday when people bring it in and sign it up to be auctioned off.

Always looking for NHL Open Ice 2-on-2. Might go this time. Ever seen one out there?

I'd pay large amounts of money for the Star Wars arcade game.

I'm sure they've had them before, but it would kind of surprise me to find one out there to be honest.

Too bad I have a crap phone or I could post on Tdub if there is one.

I'll probably have to wait until the one in December, but if there's any way you can snag some photos of the place, I'd really appreciate that.

I'm mainly interested in cabinet lightgun games (Star Wars, Area 51, Jurassic Park, etc), and maybe possibly some older classics as well.

Light gun games usually cost more. Lethal Enforcers was reasonably priced the last time I was there. Not sure how many of those are still floating out there though.

Die Hard Arcade, NFL Blitz, and Metal Slug would also cause me to spend excessive cash funds.

If you're coming it's BYOB.

Used to be you could drink there underage and no one began to care, not sure how it is now.

Grayfox, its an auction. GO and see what's there. Everyone ALWAYS talks a big game about buying arcade cabinets, but very few people ever go through with it.

^Understandable. I just won't be able to make it until the December showing. I figured a little recon wouldn't hurt.

From the website it seems like they more or less have, completely new inventory every auction.

I personally didn't get to find out. I had to go to Winston later in the day as something came up and didn't want to drive to W-S, then back to GSO, then to W-S again on Saturday which is a shame because this time of year is when you find the best selection of pieces because places that do a summer tourist business turn them in to sell in the fall.

If anyone else went let us know how it was.
