Hey what does everyone use for their attendance tracking software? Do you punch in online or with an intranet page or do you use punchcards from the 50s? Is pretty much everything these days web based?
I currently have about 4 time clocks that are attached via serial interface being consolidated to one building with separate departments. I'd rather not keep this antiquated technology if a better solution exists. 10/10/2011 1:30:15 PM |

I just wrote a web app with a SQL db backend. Punches aren't too complicated. 10/10/2011 2:19:54 PM |

we used a biometric one that tied into quicken the only place I've ever used one. They just opened up quicken and it calculated their pay and printed checks. Easy-peasy for about 20 employee setup. 10/10/2011 10:47:24 PM |

my place uses a web app on the public internet
we're small enough and trustworthy enough that abuse is rare and easily spotted, also IP addresses are logged in case somebody decides to log in from home

I, too, am interested in this. I just need a basic "punch in/out" system that will give me the total hours at the end of the week taking out the time they took for lunch and whatnot. Also, I would REALLY like for the user list to come from Active Directory. I'm okay with an OpenSource app but that's not required.
^^^^I've used Replicon's WebTimesheet at an old job and it almost seems to complicated for this purpose 10/17/2011 12:43:44 PM |

Yeah Replicon is probably too expensive for what I need. We're at about 180 employees and would prefer a physical punch in/punch out device that interfaced with the cloud (or locally hosted sqldb).
Replicon has CloudClocks which are android tablets that track faces and shit for 99/mo extra. F that. 12/14/2011 4:43:05 PM |

Apologies for beating this thread to death, but has anyone heard of http://www.uattend.com/ ?
On the surface they look like exactly what I need. Whoever was handling their sales chat was laid back and intelligent as well and I got a very good impression. It's just bothering me a bit that it's such a great price model from what I have been seeing thus far and the whole pessimistic 'too good to be true' part of me is trying to interfere. 1/6/2012 1:48:03 AM |
