my internet explorer browser is constantly redirected to bullshit websites whenever i click a link after a google search. it happens regardless of the link...i can only get to websites i want by typing the address directly into my browser. any advice on how to fix this? system scan already performed to no avail. 10/12/2011 11:05:22 PM |

Yeah most likely you are infected by your antivirus is not seeing it. Run in safe mode with networking f8 when you start the machine. Download and run malwarebytes or hitman pro. It should fix it. 10/12/2011 11:21:41 PM |

You have a serious virus in which you need a professional to remove.
Step one is to identify the virus. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and close all the programs you know under the "processes" tab. The processes left over that you don't know, google search each one of them to find out what it is (on a different computer)
When you find the virus, use advice on how to clean it without downloading anything claiming to be anti-virus software.
You'll have to go into your windows registry and change Microsoft Internet Explorer bootup values to point to (null) instead of to virus. (search the virus filename in the registry and delete it at every occurence) 10/13/2011 3:47:12 AM |

It could also be a DNS error. Check your DNS server and see what it is set to. My grandfather had this issue, and it happened even with up to date AV software running full scans, including Malwarebytes, Spybot, Superantispyware, etc. I noticed it when I brought my laptop and iPod over one day and it did this shit on my personal devices.
Repoint to another DNS Server, like OpenDNS and it might also fix the issue. It could have originally been changed by a virus that has since been removed, but definitely check it out. It had somehow gotten changed on his WAP, but it could also happen simply on the machine locally.

Also you can try my patented 'virus be-gone' magnet technique.
1 - Go do your local hardware store and get a nice powerful magnet. 2 - Now open your computer case and find your hardrive (the shiny metal thing 3.5" x ~7" x 1") 3 - While your computer is running (this is important) take the magnet and run it over the drive 4 times lengthwise and 4 times width wise, then do at least 3 figure 8's on the biggest surface just to be sure. 4 - Enjoy your new virus free computer!
