I watched this one over the weekend. If you liked the first two, then this one is a definite watch.

Yeh, I thought it was great! Unfortunately, the audience kinda ruined it by being retarded. Can't wait to watch it again when it comes out on DVD.

For people who didn't like the second one, the third installment is way better.

interesting tidbit: It was directed by the dudes who directed Catfish.

I didn't really like the first one that much. I mean...it had it's creepy moments, but just wasn't scary enough and those moments didn't happen that often. I understood what they were trying to do, but it still dragged quite a bit. I've wanted to give the second one (and now third) a chance...are they better than the first?

I thought the second one was stupid. This one was predictable, but still got me a couple of times. Mostly with cheap shots, but there were some wtf moments as well.

Audience ruined it though. Every theater stereotype showed up that night.

^ yep, happened to me also. one person ran screaming out of the theater toward the end and then proceeded to stand at the door, with the door ajar, talking on a cell phone. totally ruined the end of the movie for me.

Meh, I am a fan of this series but now on the 3rd iteration, it is getting tired. Oscilatting fan camera is not a good enough trick to keep me entertained. But for a movie in the theatre near Halloween, you could do much worse.

potential spoiler but not really

I think the last 15 minutes of this movie alone are worth the price of admission. Creepiest shit I've seen in a while

What are the theater stereotypes?

1) Loud, obnoxious black people screaming at the screen
2) Loud, obnoxious high school kids
3) Girls that scream too much

4) Cell phone user.
5) Person that asks what is going on the entire time.
6) Person that tries to guess what will happen next the entire time.
7) And I hate this one... person that has already seen the movie and are now going for a second time with another group. This person feels the need to say "Watch this part coming up, it's so cool" every 5 minutes. I guess they have this need to give that constant reminder that yes, they are special because they have seen the movie before any of their friends. Either that or their friends go to movies but pay attention to their cell phones the entire time and later ask questions about what they missed.
8) And the one that keeps me at home due to a disorder that apparently I alone have. The white noise of a hundred people eating popcorn. Makes me wanna poke my ears out in rage.
9) The guy that stands up in the middle of the movie and pokes his ears out in rage.

Mainly, it was just so much chatter, screaming, laughing, etc. It was really hard to differentiate noises coming from the movie from noises coming from the audience. Also, the audience noise made me miss subtle noises from the movie

Saw the first one when it came out. Liked it, but not "scary". Saw the second one last week. Would have seen it sooner had I know it was basically a prequel to the first one. Thought it was ok. Now that I know this is like the pre-prequel, I want to see it.

The ones that feel their trite commentary is worth my price of admission and worse are the ones that encourage it.

^Guessing that they hate it when people treat the theater like amateur MST3K night.

Best/worst movie experience ever

That's why I went last evening to the 5:55 matinee, I thought I was going to have the place to myself but only three other people showed up. Was awesome.

Horrid movie experience. Between people talking the entire movie and dipshits making commentary such as "OH HE BOUT TO GET JUMPED BY THAT CHICK" sitting behind me. I couldn't get into the movie at all

lol I'm surprised that everyone else had the exact same moviegoing experience that I did with this film. I really liked the movie and thought it was very suspenseful and well done but the entire movie was ruined by the other people in the cinema. I went with my girlfriend and the only other people in the auditorium were two guys sitting a few rows behind us and two teen couples in the back. The ENTIRE TIME the two guys were just having a discussion about whatever was going on on-screen. The male parts of the teen couple were laughing and giggling the whole time then when the main character in the movie was killed and his back was arched all the way back, one of the girls shouted "OH. MY. GOD." at the top of her lungs. So annoying.

Movie has been out for over a week now. If you are looking in this thread, you should expect spoilers. You can't expect everyone on TWW to refrain from discussing the film because you haven't seen it yet.

I saw it, so it didn't spoil it for me. I can understand if it was a few months out, but one week post-release date is way too soon to be revealing such a huge moment in the movie without proper warning.

Saw the movie tonight. The crowd was stupid, but what really ruined the movie is that the sound cut out after the earthquake. We had to watch the next ten minutes with no sound before the theater people fixed the problem and rewound the movie. Then the sound cut out again like an hour later for 30 seconds. At least we got free passes out of the deal.

I felt like this movie was basically a complete rehash of everything one had come to expect from 1 and 2. Everything about the film's structure was the exact same as the first two films. That isn't to say I still enjoyed it, however. I doubt that they will make a 4th one, but if they do I hope that they will deviate from the formula somewhat.

When they can spit out these movies for about 3-5 million and see a revenue of 100-200 million, they will make these movies once a year for a very long time.

For evidence, see Saw I - VII

^Exactly. It was number 1 at the box office opening weekend. A movie could be 120 mins of black screen and if it makes enough money they will still make a sequel.
