I'm looking for some reason for optimsim, but I've got nothing. I usually feel pretty good about our chances against UNC. Even during our shitastic 2009 season, I thought we would beat them heading into the game.

But no RW + no running game + UNC working Wake = hopelessness. I'm thinking UNC ends the streak soundly on Saturday ... hoping I'm wrong. TOB is likely coaching for his job.

I feel like we are in a "damned if we do, damned if we don't" scenario.

On one hand, I always want to beat UNC and put them back in their place.
On the other hand, I hate seeing seasons where we are terribad but make up for it by just beating UNC, re-enforcing the stereotype that its is all that we care about (durka-durka its our Super Bowl!).

It almost feels like we have more to lose by winning this game (_almost_).

The only year I've ever considered it our "Super Bowl" was 2009. We had already lost 7 games, and it was the last game of the season. I guess the same could be argued for '06 since it was our last ACC game and we also already lost 7. Other than that, it's just a rivalry game.

Any UNC fan who tells you any different is a douche.

In this case, it's not the last game of the season or even the last game of the conference. We have to win this to get closer to a bowl game, so we need to win it not just because it's against UNC, but because it's our last chance to actually have a good season, however unlikely that might be at this point.
