North American dates for 2012 announced. Playing Charlotte as well.

Saw The Wall at MSG earlier this year and it blew me away. Epic. Tix were a bit pricey, but well worth it IMO. Check it out if you have the chance.

how pricey are we talking?

Are the rogerwaters.com premium presale tickets like $500 or something ridiculous

oh that's not bad at all.

phried where would you say is the best area to sit? This seems like a concert where being far away might not be so bad

i would try to get seats as centered as possible. i would rather be a little further back and centered than up front and all the way to the left or right side. you'll want the whole wall in view as they build it and project video off of it.

those prices aren't that bad actually. MSG was a bit more just b/c of being in NYC i guess. i typically get cheap seats for shows, but this one is worth splurging on if you're a big floyd/waters fan.

well I don't want the $199 tickets anyways.

I haven't decided if I'll even try with the presale... it's either on the floor at the back or lower bowl in the back on the sides. I'm thinking maybe I'll see if I can get those on the floor in the back and if not, just try in the general sale for lower bowl directly center.

I saw him in Charlotte like 10 years ago and it was awesome. He was old then so now he must be ancient.

Let's all relive a past most of us weren't even born during and ignore the present, during which so many great things are happening in...

Seriously, do you people feel lost as a generation? If I were my dad, I could maybe see feeling stoked about this. But what the fuck would you expect from this? I avoided seeing Suicide and Tangerine Dream at Moogfest for the very reasons of NOT being my fucking father...

or do both, like most people.

I guess this is a daddy issue thing.

I don't have daddy issues.

I like music.

I like music from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and the derivative stuff that comes out every day.

I'm just shooting shit, clearly, but this is kind of ridiculous. Clearly the man just needs money, and you know no expectation you have of this show is going to pan out. I don't care how many laser lights the dude has.

Roger Waters don' need no money, fella.

A closer assessment might be that he just doesn't have anything else to do.

Peter Frampton stole his pigs already, and yeah, I guess the dude would be bored. I think I'm getting snarky because I don't even want to know how much they're charging for tickets to this.

It's not about having "daddy issues", it's about spending 80 dollars a ticket for the third level of the RBC center. It's about the pretentiousness of this shit being almost a year away and they're already advertising for it. It's about, again, this show not meeting anybody's expectations.

If you "like music," then pay some of these young kids touring across the country, not some drama queen who ultimately kicked Syd Barret out of his own band and later broke the whole fucking thing up. Dude's a hack. Do you understand how bad the Final Cut is?

i think most of us (at least myself) see plenty of small/new/upcoming acts. doesn't mean we can't afford to see a legend play an awesome show. and who cares about when he announces his tour... maybe it will give you some time to mow a few more lawns to save some money.

syd needed to leave the band as he went fucking nuts. roger became to hate his audience b/c he didn't think anyone understood him. he has since realized how he fucked up and has apologized to his audience and old bandmates. just watch any recent interview of him and you'll understand he loves what he's doing.

Roger Water was DEFINITELY a drama queen, at least up until the last 5-6 years.

a hack? guffaws. I nearly spit my teeth out.

Enjoy your 60s soul and gospel LPs, and lemme hold some at some point.

Well #1, if that's how people want to spend their money, who are you... etc. #2 I'm pretty sure that the people that want to go to this show believe that all the young kids touring across the country pale in comparison and think that 95% of the stuff that comes out today just isn't as good as the classics.

If you want to argue against people's taste in music go picket a Brittney Spears or Slipknot concert or something.

it's not like it's just Roger Waters standing in front of a mic either

anyways, I ended up not buying those presale tickets, I'm going to take my chances with the public sale for a section I want and just get upper deck if that doesn't work it

Just picked up tix for the show at Yankee Stadium!

For anyone in NYC, they just announced a 2nd Yankee Stadium show to take place on 7/7/2012. Pre-sale for that show starts this Sunday.

other than the dumb fucks in front of me in the wrong seat and others getting there late during the first few songs, I enjoyed it. I mean, we were far away and the back screen was partially blocked by the speakers but it wasn't bad. The Trial/Outside the Wall was awesome.

He really lays it on thick with the political stuff

It was fucking incredible! I was in section 338 and also had partial screen blockage but the overall view was great from there. You could really take in the show as a whole. As for the political aspect of it all that is certainly no surprise when it comes to Roger Waters and especially with The Wall. I of course agree with most of his views so it wasn't an issue but I did see one guy lose it over that .

So what did the one guy lose it over? Own stock in shell gas?

Worst part of the show... how from now on every show you will see by any other band will be measured against this show and be deemed lacking.
