While the NC State shit would be classic were we to win this and lose to Maryland I just can't see us winning this game. It's technically a rivalry but that's more academic than athletic so I doubt the team will really be up for the game. Sure there's bowl eligibility on the line and TOB will be pissed about BC ( plus he knows that going 7-5 really cools down his seat) but despite all that I think we lose.

Badly.

I've been fearing this game Since they played FSU. The way Clemson runs is just ridiculous (or at least it looks that way on TV, explosive) and i feel like we dont have the speed or playcalling competence to keep up. The only thing that could cause an NCST win is if Clemson plays one of the close(ish)they've played a few of this season. That or if Clemson is overlooking NCST since they have the Atlantic Division locked up and are going to Columbia next week.

In other words, I think it would take a perfect storm of Anti-NC State Shit to win this game, and when does that happen?

But losing a game sure won't help them. Plus this is their chance to beat us 8 times in a row. I really don't see how them clinching the division takes away any of their motivation to win.

Well, having clinched their division (t national title hopes) plus having to play their in-state rival the next weekend could cause Clemson to come out slowly and not be fully in the game in the first half.

Not that it matters. In order to capitalize State would have to actually gain a lead in the first half so the Clemson players would still be somewhat off-balanced come halftime.

If history has a sense of humor. There are only 2 possibilities that can happen Saturday.

1. Clemson gives the most epic thrashing of all the 8 thrashings since then and leaves Carter Finley dancing on our logo with not 9 but TEN wins.
2. NCState grinds out one of the hardest fought wins in it's history and is able to get on the path to a bowl and HOLD CLEMSON to ONLY 9 wins on it's home turf.

Probably one of the most memorable games of my life while at NC State. I was in Washington, D.C., for my initial Nuclear Propulsion Officer interview. I had just passed the interview and was walking back from the Metro to the hotel and stopped through another hotel that had the game on.

All I could think was, "Thursday night...there's one college game on. NC State, and we are DESTROYING Clemson."

A good night.

Anyway, we could be shut out again, but I like to be optimistic.
