How is there not a thread already?

Getting great reviews. Some good reading:

I lost interest when I heard Frank Oz had some sort of problem with it.

And now, having googled that, I have also lost interest.

Keep in mind, Frank Oz was in The Phantom Menace. I'm not exactly going to trust his judgement on respecting characters from my childhood movies.

He wrote a script for a Muppet movie and the studios picked Jason Segel's script. I'm just disappointed that he was too offended to provide his voice.

I've loved the Muppets and Fraggle Rock growing up. After seeing the reviews, I think I need to go see it. After seeing how much Jason absolutely idolizes the muppets, no doubt he has done them justice.

Just got back from watching. Really really good movie. I didn't even grow up watching the Muppets (I got my fix watching Muppet Babies).

Humor was very smart, and they didn't have to resort to penis jokes that only the adults would get. The guest celebrities were a treat to identify.

Saw this last night with the wife. It wasn't what I'd call a great movie but it was silly cornball fun and exactly what I'd expect from a Muppets movie.

The lack of Frank Oz as Ms. Piggy was noticeable, but his complaints about the movie beyond"dammit I'M not in it" seem kinda baseless.

I wouldn't say the argument that Kermit wouldn't live in a mansion while his friends are living hand to mouth is baseless.

Spoilers:::

^ If he didn't know? His friend had been out of contact for years. Even if he was trying to get in touch with them all the time Fozzie obviously had no desire to expose how far he'd fallen, Gonzo was doing pretty well and needed no help, Animal was actually getting the help he needed, Sam Eagle was doing fine, we can't really judge how the band was doing because there are successful musicians who do street performing just in their spare time, and Rowlf was just straight chillin and enjoying life.

The only one who seemed destitute was Fozzie and his own pride was clearly a factor (note the Christmas card line).

The only one that was obviously Kermit's fault was Ms. Piggy, and him running from her was clearly a part of his character.

I liked this movie. Surprised at Jack Black as the guest host instead of somebody like NPH (whose line made a lot of sense)

i was mildly interested in seeing the movie, but then i heard the writers interviewed on npr and then i REALLY wanted to see it. you can tell through their interviews how invested they are in the whole idea.

So, I'm watching Sesame Street with my sons (PBS Sprout is AWESOME) and I see a lot of muppets who have been on this show for thirty plus years.

Presumably they have to make new ones every so often, but it got me wondering if they're washer/dryer safe or if a muppet has to be dry cleaned.

Anyone know the answer to this silly question?

That makes sense, but ruins my mental image of hundreds of Muppets hanging from a dry cleaner's conveyor.
