A piece of advice: It's 2:00am. Most people are asleep. Send fregac a PM and wait to see if he contacts you.

A second piece of advice: Your friend is dealing with prototype Apple hardware; which Apple maintains is their property. If Apple finds out he has it, they will descend with the force of 10,000 lawyers. Ask fregac about the experience. It happened to him over a macbook prototype.

Anyone summarize what happened?

Upon only 5 seconds of viewing, it doesn't sound too unlike what Carl Frega did to my (as well as his friends). He took $2000 from them to build a really snazzy computer then skipped town and disappeared. They had just assumed he was arrested or hiding from some shady underbelly characters. Guess not.

Summary for the lazy:
Ok, I just finished it. Summary:
-Kid finds possible Prototype iPhone for sale online. Some known damage to the unit.
-He buys it, gets it, confirms its a prototype.
-Parts of the MOBO are slightly damaged as expected. He considers fixing it (does this for a living) but fregac (evilroot) offers to do it for him since he has better equipment.
-MOBO shipped to fregac who then ceases all communication. Its been several months.
-Kid contacts fregac's mother, who takes a hostile ton with him and tells him to not call her and get a lawyer.
