Secure stores of supplies will be essential. Bank accounts will, of course, be inaccessible and cash likely useless within a short period. I'm doubtful that precious metals will have any value, at least in the days immediately following calamity. In a world of empty pantries and no government utilities, those that hold the necessities will be gods.

Your fellow citizens will be your enemies. It is best to isolate yourself from them now.

my solar power system is nearly complete. i'll be brewing iced tea, drying my laundry, and running my AC full blast while you guys are suffering through power outages during the apocalypse.

Unless it's unusually dusty(smoke/ash residue from a thousand cooking fires) that day...or the mobs decide you should share and just bust your glass patio door.

The ability to conceal smoke from a cooking fire should be considered, however, and solar panels could help. If they're too big, though, it will make it easier for the government to find you from the air.

I live in the relatively deep woods, and the only road access is over a wooden bridge that is in an excellent kill box and which can also easily be blocked. The house itself isn't particularly well-fortified but it sits on a hilltop with decent visibility. We have guns, plenty of game, and immediate access to fresh water. Plus, I'm a god damned genius who has spent most of his adult life obsessing over the possibility of a zombie apocalypse.

So although the unpleasantness is not coming and you're an idiot whose constant trolling makes me want to hurt puppies...well, yeah, I'm pretty much ready, thank you for asking.
