Well, luckily for us, teams aren't allowed to stream games on their on websites any more (and thus, behind a paywall) because of ESPN's new contract, but for whatever reason, if its on the ACC's website, it's fair game.

^^Is the rule specifically against a streaming behind a paywall, or against being on a schools website? If they could put it on GoPack for free, at least they actually archives broadcasts...those of us that go to the game have no options for watching any of this one after the fact.

I think the rule is streaming on team sites at all. Otherwise they'd probably just have it for free on GoPack.com...

another interesting part of the contract that I heard is that ESPN has the right to come in and take the rights to any video from any sport, taking it off of archival and presumably making it exclusive to ESPN. probably only in case of some like historical record in an olympic sport, but interesting nonetheless

it's all based around pushing video to ESPN3. ESPN will pay for a satellite truck to come in and hook up to a school's feed of any sport, so as long as they have dedicated announcers for the broadcast

Was listening to the Gottfried show last night and did not realize that all five starters are averaging 12.X pts per game. That is crazy to imagine 5 players all within a point of each other almost halfway through the season.

Hope the bench gets some serious burn in this game to help build confidence.

^Agreed. I really wasn't happy with the little amount of time the bench got to play on the last game. I know some were really hoping for a 40 point win. But pushing the starters all that much more, for the sake of numbers, sacrifices building depth that we are usually pretty lacking. I still don't like how unreliable we are when Wood is injured/fouls out. The focus for these smaller games should really include some of our "smaller" players as well.

That would be fine if the ACC would archive broadcasts, but they have a "strict policy" against it. I guess they dont want to risk too many people coming to their site and watching Havoline ads...could mean additional unwanted revenue and interest in the league...
