What's the point, here? It wasn't a strike. They were getting fired or transferred. They didn't like either option.

In what way? Best I can tell, Foxconn is doing nothing unreasonable. Factories sometimes close, it is a fact of life. If the workers don't want to move, their remedy is to quit.
