"$5k"

I'm gonna bet that number represents 80%+ of the offers he's received thus far. Just like when I was selling my GTI for $17.5k every single offer (no shit) that came in was $15k. It's like there's a lowball formula somewhere...

It would help if you put the specs in kbb.com and post the link so we can see some sort of value placed on the car other than what you saying that you want.

NADA is a little high, KBB is a little low and Edmunds is really low. So you get NADA

The OP covers all of the options...except for sport package (but you could guess that based on the 17" wheels). plus he states the $8800 NADA estimate in the CL ad.

Does NADA have such a thing? All I see is "Clean Retail"

KBB private party looks like ~$8600

I am 'sorta' in the market for a new and I'd rather deal in a private sell versus a dealer. But I am not sure about the maintenance on this car, in terms of how much it would cost for parts, and if I am able to do routine tune-ups without having to take the car apart or something ridiculous like that. The latter is the first thing that really determines if I will purchase a vehicle.

Have you ever worked on cars before?
Have a decent set of tools?

If you're so inclined, you can do most routine maintenance + many fixes with some tools + a Chiltons/Haynes manual for the car...then go to the garage section when you don't have the skills/equipment/knowledge to complete a job.

I've ridden in this vehicle before. Very clean car. Buyer will not be disappointed. A+++ seller.

lol, I realized after posting someone might think this as sarcastic, but I'm definitely serious.
