yes it's lazy, but i'd rather quickly wash this grime off my car than let it sit due to my busier than normal schedule.

No idea for Cary, but I'd be interested in finding one close to West Raleigh/Cary too.

I use the American Pride in Garner (not too far from where Tryon Rd. meets S. Saunders St.) or the Kangaroo on Capital Blvd.

^ I used to go to that one when I lived off High House. Since I moved to Apex I frequent the car wash near Kroger off US 64. Up the road from McGregor's.

There's one round the back of the gas station at the intersection of walnut street and maynard that I usually use when pollen season gets bad. I think it still gets you a small discount on your gas purchase as well.

The one at the Crown gas station at Cary Pkwy and Old Apex is pretty decent, near Food Lion.

Ive moved out of the are so I cant offer a ton of insight on the street names, but I used to go to one in West Raleigh. So. From campus I would go West on Western to just about the planet fitness down there, maybe 5-6 minutes west of edge of campus (gorman/western). It was your generic 1.25 for a couple minutes of spray but it wasnt bad for something quick and cheap.

i honestly don't know why it maters. there is only so hard you can spray water and if your car has much more than some light dirt on it, it's not going to get clean..


The only way touch less washes work is if you do it at least weekly.


Basically what i'm saying is... find any touch less car wash because they all might as well be the same.

I prefer to lightly spray the crud with a water hose and then grind it into the paint with a sponge.

Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with hitting the pay and spray every once in a while; especially in the winter when the roads are nasty and washing is a pain. It's a good way to get all the turds and road grime off in between serious cleanings. I'll usually spray my rims with a good rim cleaner and hit them with a soft brush just before I pull into the machine.

Then again, I'm living in a Honda Civic/Toyota 4Runner world. If I had a fresh GT-R or C6 Z06 I might treat it a little more carefully. There is very little I can do in my normal wash routine that would fuck either of my cars up more than the average for these types of vehicles. Besides, I'm not spending 10 hours a month cleaning a 4Runner with 165k miles. I promise both of my cars are in better shape than 80% of the similar examples on the road...That's about all I care for.
