maybe it was because i skipped BLOPS completely but watching some videos of it and hearing people talk about it I think I still would have preferred MW3.

Treyarch's versions are always uniquely Treyarch, and I enjoyed World at War for some of the neat things it included

Call of Duty 4 was awesome.

W@W was ^ but WWII with better sound and gore. Plenty of noticeable improvements. Best cod imo. Complete Stats available in the pregame lobby on everyone. Starts unlocking custom slots per prestige. M1A1 carbine best COD weapon yet... no rate limit so if you have a fast trigger finger BOOM. Tanks balanced perfectly.

MW2... updated engine... better character models but worse visibility. Kill streaks are cool, nukes are addicting but it takes away from the solid gameplay 3/5/7 brought. Tons of new stuff added in, some is cool (throwing knife, riot shield, emblems) Some is stupid (infinite tubes, commando/lightweight, deathstreaks, semtex)some debatable (forced game chat, "pro perks", care packages, Jugg removed)

Black Ops was terrible. No sound quality, aim assist/hitbox/character model lag x1000, taking out stopping power AND jugg means ghost is horribly unbalanced, have to camp to avoid getting shot in the back. And Motion sensor is stationary as opposed to mobile heartbeat... worst gameplay yet. Killstreaks are ok except for a toy car that is a free kill for any scrub. Only good ideas from Black Ops I liked were the Blackbird SR71 (but with lag it is pointless) and the equipment additions.

MW3... maps are so clustered I feel like they have given up and are just going all in with the "run and gun" "spray and pray" random noob-friendly audience. Lag seems slightly better than black ops but still unacceptable for a new release. It seems like a mix between Black Ops and MW2... with really no improvements. Just re-scramble perks, rename them, new weapons and maps and call it a new game.

Anyway its going to suck but people will still buy it. It is pathetic how many times they can resell the same game on an outdated quake 3 engine with laggy random netcode designed for games in 1997. But hey, as long as people can get a kill and have their screen play rock music with +100000 points PAYBACK LONG RANGE KILL HEADSHOT YOU ROCK WHOO HOO you unlocked THIS GUN LEVEL UP alllllright!!!!

Speaking as someone admittedly in the extreme minority who still gives a shit about the single player storyline, I liked BLOPS a lot better than MW2 and beyond.

I dig the conspiracy theory, revisionist history, covert action storylines, and what better atmosphere for espionage and treachery than the Cold War at its height

I thought Black Ops was a pretty good game. The spawns were pretty good in the game. The weapons weren't overpowered. The killstreaks were all pretty fair. The maps were nice with a balance of CQC and distance. There was no easy way to quicksnipe. There was a pretty good focus on teamwork. The napalm and flamethrowers were fun too. Plus there was demolition on Nuketown.

MW3 is a good game. The main issues I have with it is the spawning seems wonky sometimes. The maps seem smaller and favor a run and gun style. MW3 also doesn't seem favor teamwork as much as Blops. I do like the killstreaks and the choices you can have and how you can cycle through them.

I thought frags in COD4 and W@W were perfect, with the timing/cooking and tossback. W@W added a sticky for antitank, there really isn't a point for them to add a sticky in MW2, especially since it is just a more spammable, overpowered (compared to frag in mw2), easier to use grenade. Then they add in physics defying friction-less rolling to the frags...

I'm not sure if the semtex still does way more damage than the frag in MW3 though... my point is though if it isn't broke don't break it.

wah? The M1A1 kicked like crazy, and the FAL was essentially useless with the garbage horizontal recoil. That was another thing I hated about blops... they go from the kickass no-rate-limit semi-autos of WWII, and then rate limit the shit out of the only 2 semi autos they include. Bring back the M1A1 carbine...

ofcourse im only taking about the semiautos. The G11 was probably the best weapon, I just wish it could have a red dot sight.

So they will have re-scrambled perks, a couple new gimmicks, and have a bunch of explosions with heavy metal playing in the trailer with scripted gameplay, then have some "new" killstreak" shown at the end.

In the meantime fundamental things like perk balance, matchmaking, lag, map design, audio ect. are swept under the rug, and another laggy noob-friendly game is bought by millions while the actual good CODs are filled with hackers and modders.

Scratch that, in W@W grenades were perfect. They decreased the damage radius and did changed the x3 primary grenade to x2. But I prefer the physics of the frags in COD4 and W@W where they are thrown harder and bounce rather than the new frag with the lob/roll/smoketrail

Semtex was fine in MW2 I thought. Frags were better in BLOPS because they had the same damage as semtex. All grenades are worthless in MW3.

you really have to cook and be accurate with MW3 grenades. just tossing them allows anyone plenty of time to get out of the kill radius, but if you cook them and make a well placed throw you can be pretty lethal.

I used to toss back martyrdom frags in W@W... perfect airburst turning enemies into a torso with stumps. Before it got hacked

If I remember correctly BLOPS1 didn't have gore because the emblems of farm animals fucking each other took up too much memory. Doubt BLOPS2 will have gore either, since, you know it was awesome.

Are they doing the free prestige coins from old games thing ? Since i hadden't played in 2 years all of my world @ war and before prestige shit got lost with my original gamertag (sumfoo1 vs somefoo1) I think i even had one in MW before i sold it back. If they're doing prestige tokens i may need to bust those games back out and prestige once just so i don't start 4-5 unlocks behind my friends like i did with MW3.

I think the prestige token from previous games was a one time thing with MW3 because ELITE was debuting at the same time. Probably won't work with new games going forward.
