Anyone watching this? Last night's episode was over the top... a BAR and a grenade launcher? The show is off to a great start so far.

http://www.history.com/shows/top-shot/

Only real complaint was how they dropped two people from the get go. Just seemed like wasted time since we get introduced to them and then just drop kick them.

love this show, I really wish we could see more of what they like to specialize in, I feel like you don't get to see their best. But overrall, best reality ever made.

I'm diggin' this season so far. I didn't mind the no-mercy, shoot on demand initial competition where 2 were let go. I thought it set the tone for the season. Same weapon, same shooting position, same target, same conditions mean that it was innate ability and how they handle pressure.

The two guys that went to the E.C. last night were class acts. I always root for the guys who obviously respect their competitors. I'm sure a dbag will emerge, but at least it's not immediately apparent like it was with Jake last season.

It's also pretty clear there's going to be some sexual tension/shenanigans between Boobs McGee and the guy who looks like the lead singer of Rascall Flatts.

I do agree, I really dislike the cocky bastards that are invariably going to end up on the show. I like the quiet respectful ones, I also like chee kwan, for some reason.

I like the fact that the girls can actually shoot this time. Normally they are just the sacrificial lambs but it looks like things are different this time.

I wish they would have a few people each season with basically no experience to see how they would fare against the "experts"

that would really defeat the purpose of the show. This is Top Shot, putting some of the country's most skilled and trained marksmen against each other. You don't want to ruin it by throwing in complete novices.

the closest thing you'll get, which is completely awesome, is someone like Dustin from season 3 who is self taught with a lot of natural talent that picked apart the competition.

Someone with no shooting experience would just get destroyed unless they are just a freak of nature. There have been plenty of people who are recreational shooters with little to no training who go on there. Hell, Dustin from last season destroyed it and he was purely self taught.

Agreed. It's good to see women who can actually shoot this season, even if one of them was clearly selected for other assets as well.

Second the LOL. Seems they're fond of zooming in on her more often than other competitors (not that I'm complaining).

I don't mean complete novices. I mean just like the occasional hunter or whatever. I guess you could say a few people like Dustin.

Just someone who wasn't in the military and isn't a competition shooter or in law enforcement.

Guess you haven't watched this show much because they pretty much always have some non-military, non-competition shooters.

They have a couple this season too, don't they? I think Chris Cheng is self-taught. Dylan Fletcher (ie. Rascall Flatts) apparently also is not active competitively though he comes from a family of longbow shooters. I get the impression that the shows are always trying to mix a few self-taught in to keep it interesting like Dustin from Season 3, but the pool to draw from without diluting skill is probably thin.

^^I've seen every episode. I just can't really recall, other than Dustin, anyone who was non military, law enforcement, or competition.

Apparently you don't watch it too much.

There have only been two.

None in the first season.

None in the second season.

Alex and Dustin in season three.

Haven't seen any of season 4 yet.

I can't remember if it was the first or second season but that one guy was a golf pro. He always made me laugh because he pissed off the shooters that thought they were so above him.

yep I've been watching it as well. It's off to a good start. I like the way the teams were formed this time. No winners team vs losers team or people playing politics to try and get the best people. Just where ever you fell in the rankings determined what team you were on.

On another forum I frequent, we're having a guessing game as to how many more episodes before they hook up. Hope neither one of them have a bf/gf at home watching this

I was really hoping that Greg Littlejohn was going to get sent home. He's so off-putting with his nerdy emotional nonsense paired with cocky doucheyness.

That bandanna parting gift thing was so awkward. Even Colby was like "WTF was that all about?" Shake the man's hand, don't patronize him with your pseudo friendship bracelet.

Pretty cool elimination challenge rig, and the crossbow team competition was pretty intense. This is a great show.

Glad Chris Cheng won in the end. Would have hurt me significantly if Littlejohn came out on top. Kinda funny too how guys were beaten at their own professional specialties: Littlejohn with the grenade launcher and Chee with the breach. Glad to also see that women contestants weren't #1 and #2 off the show.

I was hoping Peter Frampt- I mean Kyle would win and was disappointed when he got voted off. He seemed like the best all-around guy in the competition, at least I thought.

Very happy to see somebody other than Greg win it though. I really didn't like him. Considering Chris' background in IT and how well he did, he definitely deserved it.

I was pulling for Kyle too, sucks because if Augie hadn't made the vote a tie he would have been safe all around. That's the way it goes though.

Yea greg was terrible at the beginning, im really surprised he made it to #2. I didn't feel like the top contenstants of this season were as good as previous seasons, but that may not be the case.

I just watched the "Behind the Bullet" episode. It cracked me up when they talked about the whole friendship braceledana. And again at the end when it said Colin had returned it.
