i'm about sick of thunderbird being a piece of crap...i refuse to use anything higher than 3.1.19 because they suck donkey balls, but NO version of tbird has decent support for google calendar...lightning/provider blows and the problem with the google cal tab extension will only work with one calendar

i have 4 google/gmail accounts...i need them all and no, i don't want to forward any to another

must be free, must not suck...thoughts?

PS. 3.1? thunderbird sucks regardless, but have you actually tried 10.0?

^ yes, and i can't think of a single reason to upgrade...3.1 is cleaner and less memory intensive

Only email client that I've ever used that worked well with multiple calendars was Outlook. It actually supports google calendars pretty damn well too.

But it's not free, so you're probably just up shit creek.

If you find an alternative lemme know, because I'd be interested to try it out as well.

no reason to make a new thread

this is the error that made me want to switch:

Quote :
"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.3.0 <myemailaddress@gmail.com>... Permission denied. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again."

not sure if it's thunderbird or gmail...my work computer has an identical configuration (3.1.20, now) and i copypasta'd the profile from my work computer to my laptop and i keep getting this error ONLY on my laptop (my work computer works just fine)

google has given me...nothing

do you have 2-step authentication enabled by chance?

^ meaning...master password in addition to saving my account passwords?

[Edited on March 15, 2012 at 5:03 PM. Reason : oh, it's a google thing...don't know, checking now]

i do not have 2-step verification enabled for any of the 3 personal accounts...my NCSU account (managed by google/gmail) doesn't even have the option under account settings

it's driving me up a wall...i just had the thought that i haven't had my laptop anywhere else since this started...is it possible it's an ISP thing?

^ having 3-4 windows open at once (in addition to windows/tabs for work) is just plain silly...especially when it works in one place and not in another (implying that the issue isn't global, but localized...and therefore fixable)
