i order heartworm pills made up for my dogs' specific weights through the vet's online pharmacy & it's wayyyyyyyy cheaper than the prepackaged ones. idk if your vet does the same thing, but it's worth looking into. i get 12 pills (so 6 months' worth for us) for $27 shipped.

i didn't post a link bc i'm in rocky mount & doubt anybody goes to my same vet, but here you go. the vet placed the order & i don't know what the dosage is or anything. it just shows up in the mail a couple times a year.

Ivermectin is sold OTC for horses, pigs, and cattle. I had to start buying the pig stuff when I had a dog and cat because the stupid cat hated the heartgard and the liquid was easier to shove down him than the pills.

you can order them from overseas.
cheaper then 1800 pet meds but watch your bank for international fees.
you dont need a prescription
