Good old Virginia is at it again.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/17/representative-virginia-fox-on-student-debt_n_1431050.html
Foxx, who is chairwoman of the house Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training, said on the Gordon Liddy Radio Show that it took her seven years to finish school. She added that over those seven years, she borrowed nothing.
"I have very little tolerance for people who tell me that they graduate with $200,000 of debt or even $80,000 of debt because there's no reason for that," Foxx continued. "We live in an opportunity society and people are forgetting that. I remind folks all the time that the Declaration of Independence says 'life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.' You don't sit on your butt and have it dumped in your lap." 4/18/2012 11:32:07 AM |

Since the in-state tuition has not changed at all in the last 50 years .
However I do agree in the fact that if you knowlingly choose to forego income by enrolling in school then you do so knowing to acquire debt. Not everyone can get a scholarship and not everyone can maintain a 3.8 while working 40 hours a week. I know i couldn't. Just don't bitch when you get out with yoru 200k debt from Duke or the likes. 4/18/2012 1:05:18 PM |

my mom's parents were able to pay out-of-pocket for her to go to a private college and neither of them went to college. My grandad worked at a paper mill and my grandmother was a secretary.
this should be about higher ed inflation, not lazy people.
