I need some TWW help...getting relocated to one of three areas.

I'm trying to be upbeat but it is difficult considering the possible destinations.

Memphis (north side)

Richmond, California

New Orleans (near the 3rd Ward)

Anybody have any input on these general areas? I appreciate it, thank you in advance!!

North Memphis is terrible. I've lived in Memphis and downtown, cordova coilliarville germantown are the only decent areas and they aren't even great. The rest are terrible.

New Orleans sounds good.

I've heard bad things about Richmond but the bay area overall is amazing.

The only 2 good things about Memphis are Beale Street and Tunica less than an hour away.

Could be worse. Could be West Memphis.

Richmond, CA is the best of those options.

I'd go for Richmond of those three choices.

If I knew it wasn't a long term thing I would probably go with New Orleans. Pretty cool place as long as you don't get hit by a big hurricane

If I had to pick between California, Louisiana, and Tennessee, I'd probably lean towards California. Although New Orleans could be fun too.

Richmond is the worst city in the Bay Area. If you are going to work there don't live in the city. Bay Area as a whole is great though and easily the best choice of the three. Remember that you pay for the niceness though.

New Orleans is the middle ground between Memphis and Richmond. More exciting than Memphis but cheaper than Richmond. Plenty of things to keep you busy especially if you like food, history, and music, but you gotta watch for those hurricanes and the heat (and the smell sometimes).

Richmond... although each choice presents great cultural experience opportunities. How long are you planning to stay in this assignment? (or do you even know?)

make sure you take into account cost of living. i'd be willing to bet that COL in NO is cheaper then Richmond. Will your salary be the same regardless of where you go?

My first thought before really considering the other two. But then again I lived in the bay area for 5 or 6 years and loved it just hated the high cost of everything...not to mention how damn crowded it can be. I still think it's better than the other two.
