I wouldnt exactly call them nice but you can usually get some older SOLID desks at NCSU surplus. Usually, a good sanding and some stain will make them look good as new, and they can usually be had for less than 10$. Might want to try there if something like that would interest you. If you are new to NCSU surplus, its once or twice a month now and you can go in on thursday mornings for viewing then the sale is on Friday.

I've got a couple of nice ones I am trying to sell...i have 4 desks, all i need is one. I'll get you pics sometime tonight or this weekend.

I think many of us are. I, too, was going to suggest looking at NCSU surplus and doing a sand/restain/new hardware job on one of the old solid wood desks available there.

An executive workstation desk that cost five figures new is a different animal entirely.

the nc state surplus has a bunch of decent looking solid corner desks, like 15 each and 5 for the side peices

The desk is about $12000 new. Buy it for $3000 and I will throw in the $1000 chair.
