I have been tasked with finding a beach house for my family's vacay the week of October 14th. I've looked on VRBO, homeaway, and airbnb. Are there other good resources I should check out? (craigslist is just filled w/ spam). I thought since some of y'all live down south you might have some more insight (or even have a rental of your own!)

must-haves:
-5 bedrooms preferrably, but could work with 4 if one had two separate beds
-pool + hot tub
-on or walking distance to beach
-~$2000, which I think is reasonable given the time of year
-dog-friendly (one VERY well-behaved older labrador)

thanks in advance!

South beach is part of Sea Pines Plantation at the very bottom tip of the island. Harbor Town is also very close to that. Almost anything in sea pines should be good if you can find it.

By "South Beach" he may be referring to the South Beach Marina area, which is in Sea Pines. Sea Pines is the largest private development in Hilton Head and takes up almost 25-30% of the island (the entire southern/western part). Ask him for clarification.

bttt...trying to help my mom find a place for a family vacation. Condo or Villa since it'll be 4, maybe 5. Hardest thing is finding a place that is pet friendly for their two small older dogs.

Needs to be very close to the beach. Right now she's looking at Ocean Villas on South Forest Beach. Anyone have any current advice?

how about both? daytime i'll probably head over to Savannah one day and looking into any kind of fishing trip for another. Other days are open beach days hopefully with some cycling in between. Nights are wide open.
