I'm going to setup a family plan soon (and upgrade my 4 to a 4s) and wanted to see if anyone had a strong opinion on Verizon vs AT&T. I've had AT&T for about 5 years now and so far they've been great but I feel like I may be missing out on Verizon. Cost difference is negligible and I have heard that the 3G speed on AT&T is a little better. I don't travel to the boonies that often, I spend most of my time in Greensboro, Raleigh or Charlotte.
What do you guys think?

Also, I know there is a new iPhone coming out in a few months but the gf's phone sucks big time so I want to get her on a iphone. If I keep AT&T I may see if I can save my upgrade.

I'll stay under the 2gb limit, I try to connect to wifi wherever I am. It looks like for the same price I would get an extra 2gb with AT&T. They only have a 3gb/pp or 5gb/pp option, Verizon lets you share 2,4,6,8,10.

I have both, one of them through work. Internet speeds on my AT&T phone are much faster unless I'm in the boonies on Edge, & that happens pretty rarely. If I was buying a new iphone today I wouldn't even consider verizon an option.

It's not a little better, it's tons better. I'd say wait for the next iPhone if you can, but if you are insistant on getting a 4S right this second, there's no question that AT&T is far superior, especially if you say you are almost always in their coverage area.

If i stay with AT&T I'll try to keep my upgrade for the next hardware if I can. Ill probably stick with AT&T.

I'd say wait on the next iPhone. AT&T is way faster too. Also you can't talk on the phone and use the data on Verizon which I do daily on AT&T. While I'm on a call I'll check my email or browse the web. I can't imagine not being to use the phone while on a call (Verizon).

Well that all depends. The capability is there for 3G voice and data with a couple devices already supporting it and it'll work over LTE regardless assuming it's 4G.
