So my brother just recently bought a Boss 302. He works in the design department at Ford. I've never been a Mustang fan but I borrowed the car all day yesterday - I want one now. Anybody else driven one? 7/1/2012 10:00:43 AM |

Affirmative, I would presume the second choice. 7/1/2012 4:41:37 PM |

One ran in an Autocross with me in ETR SCCA recently. Beautiful car, sounded great, but slow times. I think it was the driver's 1st AutoX though, so not really a good data point 7/1/2012 10:50:14 PM |

Coyote-Boss 302 is a fucking amazing engine. And also crazy expensive since its a special one off. If you drove one I can't blame you for wanting one, but unless you work for Ford or are filthy rich you're not getting that shit.
Hell, even Cleveland-Boss is rare as fuck. Rich collectors stuff. 7/2/2012 4:31:23 AM |

^wtf?
They're around $40k, and compared to a GT optioned out in similar fashion they are a good "deal". Now obviously $40k isn't cheap, but it isn't "crazy expensive" and show me another car that costs less and is faster. 7/2/2012 8:47:52 AM |

^33,000 for gt with track pack and premium interior and good luck getting a boss for 40k
lol Cleveland-windsor boss costs 20k just for vin plates anymore.
The coyote boss IMHO is a great car... but i would get a gt with the track pack and then do suspension on my own. Sure you'll be a little shy in hp (412 vs 444) but the regular boss doesn't even come standard with limited slip.
The track pack gt has all the goodies (brembos diff coolers tranny coolers torsen diff etc.) of the leguna seca just has a back seat and doesn't have the fancy high rpm intake manifold and cams.... basically its a better daily driver.
what you will want to do is buy the gt track pack then drop 2k in suspension parts... hell you can even add the ford racing blower kit or the boss intake manifold and still be cheaper than what dealers are charging with markup for the regular boss let alone the boss 302.

Well someone over on the S2000 forum did in fact buy one at MSRP so it does happen. (I realize MSRP isn't $40k..i was just rounding for simplification )
BTW the 2013 GT now has 420 hp
