The NCSU Triathlon Club is actively recruiting athletes to come join our forces and take on the collegiate world of Triathlon (Yes, this means taking down UNC and Duke). We are a very active club with an unbelievably supportive group of athletes. We are also welcoming our own level one USAT coach, Brooks Doughtie to the team. If this interests you or someone you know please mention it to them. Our website is still currently being updated but most information you need is there in detail. Our goal is to send a full men and women's team to nationals this year. We had a full men's team, but not a women's... I look forward to hearing from all of you.

does your club receive funding from the university?

Since we are a club team we are not considered a part of the athletic department. Therefore, we don't receive funding from their budget. We can however apply to receive money through campus recreation, who allots money to club sports teams under a MYRIAD set of rules. The short answer is that we receive very minimal financial support from the university, but we are working hard to establish more sponsorships and fundraising events. Since triathlons are so costly (entry fees, transportation, bikes, apparel, etc...) we are working hard to offset any costs that may arise. Ideas and leads are always accepted!

Cool, good luck, let us know how the team does. I follow the Duke tri listserve and they have their schedules pretty locked in as it is, I've seen their kids out on various rides around town.

You need to suck up to the Cary shops for sponsorship= $$$.
