I don't care what your opinion may be of Creed and Alter Bridge, but if you love hard-rock/metal music and stand-out guitar techniques, you're going to want to check out Mark Tremonti's debut solo album "All I Was". Simply put, it is one of the best hard rock albums I have heard in the past 5 years at least. It perfectly illustrates how Mark Tremonti is an amazing guitar player, song-writer and, as it turns out, lead singer.

despite my devoted hatred of creed, I've always thought he was a pretty damn good guitarist that should have found a better band.

the logo looks very ICPish, which may be the only band worse than Creed 7/22/2012 9:46:35 PM |

The only thing worse than a shitty songwriter is a guy who thinks shredding can make up for it. 7/22/2012 9:53:03 PM |

^ Nickelback, Hinder, Puddle of Mudd... just to name a few. I understand people's dislike of creed (shitty, pop-sounding singles, douchebag lead singer, stereotypical post grunge band), but they are definitely nowhere near the level of shit that those bands, and others, are 7/22/2012 9:54:08 PM |

It's a good thing rock music isn't based on some hybrid of country and jazz, then, or you'd be screwed.

Ohh man you schooled me. I forgot to look into the inner workings of the flashy guitar hard rock music genre and see the influence of country music before making my last comment. My fault. Kenny chesney would be disappointed 7/23/2012 11:44:15 AM |

I'm not some pretentious metal head who doesn't recognize the influence of blues, folk, and bluegrass on most of the music I choose to listen to. I was reffering to the awful, twangy, pop country music that fills the shitty radio stations today. Sorry I stated "all country music" and wasn't more explicit. 7/23/2012 11:59:45 AM |

He did with Alter Bridge. Granted that is 3/4 of Creed anyway, but changing the lead singer helps a lot.7/24/2012 8:03:00 AM |

neither are the Beatles, but that doesn't mean that they aren't worth listening to
(and that my friends, is the first time that the Beatles and a nu-metal hack have ever had anything in common) 7/30/2012 2:21:46 PM |

He is a talented guitar player who writes pretty boring songs. And, while he may be a decent player, he is one of the most overrated players of the last couple decades. I don't think he is "flashy" at all really either, just moreso than a lot of other crappy bands on the radio.
If it comes to straight rock, I'd much rather listen to someone like the Foo Fighters. 7/30/2012 2:37:28 PM |
