saw a few for $750 recently. I don't know about comparing year-to-year models, but it was a 51" 1080p Plasma. 7/26/2012 11:09:27 AM |

but it's a SAMSUNG!
I would be willing to sell it for $600 which may or not be feasible. But I bought it for $2,000 and it's an excellent tv. I am leaving the country for two years (or longer), and may return to the states afterwards. So if I can't get $600, then I will probably hold on to it, in case I return.

yeh, I saw samsungs for $750.
sitting on a tv in storage or whereever for 3 years is kind of stupid, IMO. Good luck with the sale. I think you'd be in the $200-$300 range here; maybe up to $500 on CL. 7/26/2012 11:20:51 AM |

it's not feasible, but your best bet will be craigslist
also, it's completely irrelevant what you bought it for...if it were free, would you pay someone to take it to represent the same loss? of course not7/26/2012 11:26:35 AM |

yeah i put it on craigslist. a scammer contacted me. they were on a peace-keeping mission in Iraq, so they couldn't meet in person. Wanted to pay me via paypal.
A quick google of the name reveals that "Mercy Johnson" is in fact a famous Nigerian actress. lol.
I told em to pick a better alias next time. 7/26/2012 11:31:56 AM |

That's not quite fair...I'm sure he could find 20+ buyers here (myself included) at that price range.
I'd think he could pull $450+ here and ~$600 on craigslist if he has a couple weeks to wait it out and reposts every few days, especially if TV wasn't a lower end TV when it was purchased (perhaps someone with TV skillz can fill us in on that point). ]7/26/2012 11:47:24 AM |

If someone really wants it, then yeh. I just don't see paying $450 for a 3 year old used tv when the new one is $750 (other than craigslist; those morons will pay anything). Just my opinion on what I think the tww market is like; though we always have you people paying too much
Maybe too much of my personal philosophy is biasing my thoughts (If I'm going to drop $450-$600 on a TV and a new one is only <$300 more, I'm going to get the new one because it's not worth the risk. )
[Edited on July 26, 2012 at 12:02 PM. Reason : unless this is some superduper model that makes it worth more.]
