I agree about the yawning, but it has potential to improve.

they were just wrapping up loose ends from last season. i.e. how bohanon will get intertwined with the durant crew again and what happened with common and his girl, etc...

unfortunately, they did so in such a rushed way that there were glaring plot holes and suggests the overall season may also suffer from such rushed writing.

yeah i'm looking for a good explanation for why bohanon would rob the wages from that train when he knows exactly where/who they're meant to go to.

I feel it's been a pretty ok couple of episodes. Now that Bohanan is back I think things will really start to kick into gear

thats what I'm hoping, even though it was a fairly contrived return

The acting and set and everything for this show is so good. But one scene just transpired that made me realize why I'm not feeling it: the dialogue.

It feels like it's written for the stage, not TV...very dramatic, cliched dialogue. And every line is dripping with tension. It just seems very unnatural, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely takes some getting used to.

"I'm scared, Mickey! That business with Penny has all the girls spooked."

(At its worst, it seems like a spoof.)

lots of potential but i'm close to stopping the dvr from recording this.

the dialogue is just terrible, and the writing overall is pretty poor. toole surviving a point blank gunshot to the face? lily sleeping with durant? eva marrying toole? durant using a favor to get bohannan pardoned b/c he is somehow the only person capable of shooting indians? so much stuff that just doesn't jive.

a&e is the poor man's fx.

I haven't watched tonight's yet, but I'm just not a fan of the direction they have taken the main character (whatever his name is)... He is almost beyond redemption in my eyes, which makes for a poor protagonist.

yeah, he's the only one on the show pulling his weight and the direction they're taking him is bogus.

All the characters are morally "grey." Just because Bohannan is the lead doesn't mean he's exempt from that, especially since at this point it doesn't seem like he's out for redemption of any kind. I still dig this show, admittedly I'm a huge sucker for Westerns anyway. The dialogue is a little heavy-handed though, I'll give you that.

Yeah the Christian girl who won't marry the indian is really pissing me off at the moment. She rather marry a white murderer than an indian Christian with whom she is sleeping.

At this point, are there any characters without blood on their hands?

The Swede is up to no good.

I'll see how this season finishes, but right now I'm leaning toward not watching the 3rd season (if there is one). The show is just lacking in so many different areas.

I enjoyed the whole season, watching the Swede at work was pretty badass.

Definitely the kind of ending that ties up the series if it doesn't get renewed, but I'd love to see more

I did not expect to see lily getting strangled by the Swede in the end but I thought it was a great episode and great finale

yeah that actually made me

They definitely did that episode so that it would be a series finale if need be but also if the show comes back it allows them to write whomever they want off. the town has been destroyed a lot of people's homes and jobs are gone. Not only does the town get a new start but so does the show, if it is renewed.

So what was the meaning with the stake in the ground with the red flag I didn't quite pick that one up. Also, I take it that Bohanon accepted the role he was offered?

I kind of assumed that it would be where the new stop/town would go in place rather than build the over the old spot. Also, implying that Bohannon accepted the job and is looking to make a new start.

Also...I'm assuming the swede died from that fall...but I suppose there's room for interpretation there.

Nobody else finds it odd/stupid? that Swede goes from "he won't last the night" to waltzing through the burning town in a day?

nope. i took his sickness to be exaggerated from the moment he showed up.

i, for one, do not believe he is dead, though.

Mr. Toole killing himself sucked too.

There were several characters they should have gotten rid of but not those two.

Go ahead and finish it off, if you have it DVRd just watch them over time. The finale is pretty cool, especially the formatting of it

End of season 2 was definitely the best couple episode stretch in the series. Wish they'd killed off a few other characters other thant the ones that they did though.
