11,000 was due to the new system emailing all students a reminder. Found out that for some reason I had 3 loyalty points so that's my issue. Should be resolved by citadel.

Sorry to double post, I just saw this thread after posting in the other one...
It's been a couple of years since I got a student ticket. Do they scrutinize the student ID's and match names with tickets or is it like basketball where they don't even look at your ID or ticket as long as it's in your hand? Also if I don't have a parking pass, where can I pay to park and still tailgate nowadays and how much does it run?

With all that out of the way, I'll take an extra student ticket if anyone can e-mail it to me (I have an extra ID), thanks!

I'm a senior and got mine fine, but I know others that didn't get tickets while some freshmen did. Don't understand what they fixed about the system, at least last time if some dumbass forgot to claim their ticket it'd go back in the lottery for a 2nd phase and then on demand phase.

I agree that the exclusion of the claim period is dumbing down the system. The first quarter of the tickets are given to the top 25% in loyalty points. In this case those were all seniors, but not every senior that requested a ticket since more than 2150 seniors requested a ticket. Then with demand exceeding supply the weighted lottery kicked in based of loyalty points. A weighted lottery betters a senior/junior's chances, but doesn't guarantee a ticket as seen by sophomores/freshmen getting tickets. I've heard some people's loyalty points were wrong in the system and should be corrected before the Citadel request period.

The only issue I had with Ticket Return was during the VT game 2 years ago where I'd been to every home game of our 4 game season at that point and didn't get a ticket when a suitemate of mine had negeative points by not going to the first game and got a ticket. Other than that I never had any issues with them. New system is more confusing in terms of layout on the website, and just seems like a dumbed down version.

I went to get a parking pass today though. Got a slip of paper with the pass that said that students cannot line up in the turn lane on Trinity anymore in order to get in line for tailgate spots. Any idea what this is about? There's going to be some serious road races down Blue Ridge and Trinity right at 1:00 now just to get in the lot.

Can someone report back about how close they actually check your student ID? I still have mine from 2003 and it works for other discounts in the area since they don't really care.

any idea if the staging rules apply to Trinity/TX/Staff lots as well? not really sure how all of that's going to be enforced. at noon sure, make them keep moving along but there's going to be folks trying to line up at 12:50 or so to get in.

So I have a student ticket for myself and a guest ticket for a friend. This is the first time I've needed to buy a guest ticket in years, so I'm a little confused... the student ticket says to enter the normal student gates (10/11) while the guest ticket says to enter through basically any gate except 10/11. WTF? How exactly are we going to be able to sit together?

The guest ticket should say that's it's General Admission. Just have them find you and then you go to what section you've been assigned and sit together.

Wait, not everyone that requested got tickets and some people got guest tickets? That seems a little ridiculous to me. I thought they give out guest tickets only if not all tickets were taken by students.

I think that happened because when the guest ticket phase started, the student ticket request link went away. They fixed the mistake after a while, but some students were able to get a guest ticket due to people canceling their ticket during that time frame.

^^^ I agree. Wasn't really thinking it'd be possible to get a guest ticket for this one, but I checked a little before midnight last night and I guess someone had cancelled a student ticket.

^^ I think its only the standby line now. I believe its somewhere on the towers side of the stadium but you might want to double check.

When I went to the USA game I dont think they even looked at my ID I had it in my hand and that was about it. I would recommend being pretty close to the front when they are trying to rush everyone in or at least get there when there is still a line so they dont really have time to scrutinize.

Also, since I got there early and as long as I keep that up, I should be guaranteed a ticket to every home game since I am a senior. We shall see.

Is there a rule saying you have to get your ticket and hand stamped immediately upon entry? What if your friends are in the other line and you want to meet them inside and then go to the table together to get stamped? Anyone know if that is allowed?

^ From my experience, you have to get it stamped upon entry. But if you want to go sit with your friends, just wipe off the first stamp and get your hand re-stamped at the table where your friends are. Just tell the people stamping hands that whatever section you got stamped for originally is full.
