Who does this? The place had two ordering boxes, but still just 1 drive-through lane. I'm in the front position and a woman was ordering behind me. When she started driving off, I thought she was leaving/didn't order, so when I finished my order, I started to pull ahead and at this time she was beside me. Then this woman nearly rams me as she tries to get back in line to get to the window. WTF?

Also, some moron in front of me on Lake Boone slammed on her brakes to let jaywalkers, from the opposite side, run across the road. So not only do I almost rear-end her, a car in the lane next to us, going about 45 MPH, doesn't see the people coming from the other side of the road and nearly flattened the two women jaywalkers. They were literally inches away from dying, but luckily the car stopped in time.

[Edited on September 12, 2012 at 3:46 PM. Reason : Common factor in all of this: all of them were women... makes you think.]

Let me pile on:

Had a female driver stop in the middle of the smaller roundabout (near St. Mary's) on hillsborough today and wave another car into it. 2nd one I've seen do this in a few months. Laid on my horn for 3 good bursts

^next time I see someone do this I'm going to get out of the car and punch someone in the face, I see it at least once every 2 weeks in one of the roundabouts around campus.

I had a woman pull out in front of me in a roundabout. I slammed on brakes hard to avoid hitting her and laid on the horn.

She pulled over IN THE ROUNDABOUT and waved me past.

I have stopped being surprised by how dumb people can be behind the wheel. Also in general.

I was turning left out of my neighborhood the other day. There was a car waiting to turn left into the neighborhood off the main road. Once it's clear, the lady waiting to turn into the neighborhood looks at me and waves me on to turn in front of her. She is stopped in the middle of the road (there is no left turn lane) with a car behind her and is waving me on when she has the right of way.

also, correctly navigating a 4 way stop seems to be about the same difficulty level to proving the higgs-boson for most people.

I was behind someone in the left turn lane at a stop light today. He was yielding to a lady about to turn right when she stopped, flashed her lights and waved him on to turn ahead of her.

Also, the way people accelerate to stop signs here and then slam on their brakes scares the ever-living shit out of me.

[Edited on September 12, 2012 at 4:22 PM. Reason : I kind of want one to blow through it and total my car so I can get my caddy. ]

fareko, didn't you move to texas?

do they do the thing where you're at, when you've got a green arrow to turn right onto a two lane street/road, and someone has a green light to turn left from the oncoming direction, they just assume you're only going to get into the far right lane? they'll just proceed on their merry ass way into the left lane. that shit pisses me off.

also, no one tailgates like they do here.

When I was driving downtown this weekend, an SUV was in front of me as we were heading from Wade Avenue to Capital Blvd. Even though it is a free flowing lane (no merging), the SUV STOPS in the road. I blare my horn a few times, it moves about 5 feet, and stops agan. So I beep my horn a bit more. They go from stopped to getting straight into the next lane over. I pass them on the lane that they were supposed to continue in.

Later at a stop light they caught up to me, and it was two girls. They flipped me off. It would be funnier if it wasn't so sad.

The idiocy of people is often appalling. I'm generally a patient person, but I just don't have any tolerance for morons and ignorance.

Yeah, I did and yeah, they do. I just sit and wait because there is a gas station at the entrance of the neighborhood that I live on and sometimes they cross over into the right lane. I almost died a couple of times.

[Edited on September 12, 2012 at 4:43 PM. Reason : V and, yeah, they are correct...until they merge over unexpectedly.]

And they'd be correct. The dick is the one who doesn't maintain their own lane.

Surprising. You really wouldn't expect this type of activity at such an upscale restaurant.

I got ran out of the driving area by a young white lady with dread locks. She looked over at me while she was doing it with a wobbly neck and glassy, vacant stare...I was unable to identify exactly what drugs she had taken.

A lot of people don't realize that breaking the right-of-way rules complicates things more, not helps them.

A good example was stopping to let people cross the road on a multilane road.

in Texas, people will cross three lanes on a frontage road after getting off the highway, cutting everyone off so they don't miss the street they were turning onto. can't dare honk at them because they might be carrying...i haven't used my car horn since I left charlotte in 2009.

They might as well just do away with all yield signs as no one knows how to properly yield anymore. A yield sign seems to mean "speed up and try to cut off as many cars as possible".

Sadly, this pertains to drive throughs also

^^well, lucky for the idiot jaywalkers, who were lured into believing it was safe to cross by the moron who stopped in the middle of the damn road.

Passing in the drive-thru would save you what? 10 seconds? And probably not since you've just screwed up the order of the line so when you get up to window that 10 seconds will be used up correcting your dumbassery. Stupid people.
