This really isn't a bad cat at all, I just have allergies and the gf and I are getting a place soon and we need to find a home for this cat.

"Sheera is a one and a half yr old honey colored tabby, spayed, up to date on all of her shots, has been indoors her whole life. Moving in with boyfriend who is allergic to cats, must find her a new home before the end of the month. She is friendly and likes to follow me from room to room. Will give you clever cat litter box (originally $50- works really well to conceal odors) and rest of her food and litter. Sheera gets along well with large and small dogs, and has never been destructive - a very cool cat I'm sad to let go of, but would like to see her go to a responsible home.

If It's such a good cat, why do you dislike them so much?

Claws or no claws?
Male or female? (SHEEra...thinking female...)
How is he/she with other cats?
Do any tricks? If so, what? (very important okay)

I dislike cats in general - I'm a dog person. I am also allergic to cats, which is why this one has to go if the gf wants to move in with me, but as far as cats go this one is nice, affectionate, etc.

it's a 1.5 year old female. it has its claws, and it hasn't been around other cats since my gf got her (from some lady with like 7) when she was six months old. she gets along fine with my German Shepherd and also her roommates little dog (yorkie mix?). I'm pretty sure she'd put up with anything. She also doesn't know her name (which came from the Jungle Book iirc) so you could call her whatever you want!

I didn't know you could really teach cats tricks, but it likes to follow people around room to room. She's very playful if you have a toy or something to dangle, or a laser pointer or something but she's not super hyper tear up your shit type of cat.

I know tons of people try to dump shitty cats off on craigslist, etc. so they don't have to feel bad about taking it to the pound but this cat has been very well cared for and is actually a good cat. I'm the cause of my gf getting rid of her otherwise she'd keep her (I'm not trying to be an asshole, but as previously stated I'm allergic).

I can't imagine what my cat's life would be like if I got rid of him when I moved in with the first guy I lived with (who was allergic lol). My motto after two live-in boyfriends: the cat was here before you and he'll be here after you. he's my buddy

I think I know someone who was looking for an older cat companion. I'll ask them and post back

What is the neighborhood like you are moving to? My wife and I converted our 2 cats to outdoor cats a couple of months ago. They used to always try to run out anyway so we thought we would try it out since a lot people in our neighborhood have outdoor cats and they were always terrible at using the litter box every time. They seem much happier being able roam free and hunt. We just recently bought them outdoor houses in preparation for the colder months.

Try the allergy meds. Looks like a great kitty though--I'd be interested except our landlord has a very strict no pets clause.

I/We'd appreciate that, thanks!

downtown Raleigh, probably not a good option. we've already tried doing that anyway and the cat just sits outside the door and meows. one time it actually ran into my neighbor's house.

I'm on it now because my gf and the cat have moved in to my place because her lease is up and we have two weeks til we move into the new place. It helps but I'm still pretty miserable - it's like I have a perpetual cold.

2^try getting doctor rx stuff. fluticasone propionate does wonders for me. my worst allergy season used to give me daily migraines and constant sinus infections, but I barely notice any thing now. seriously, if she is a cat person she is going to hold this against you. you'll hear about it again, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but some day.

I literally couldn't function without this stuff. If OTC antihistamines don't help, then definitely give this stuff a try.
