So my family has a website we all use and contribute to as a shared photo gallery/journal and keep vacation and holiday planning organized, the domain is through Godaddy. We use picasaweb for our pictures and I would like to make a pics.domain.com shortcut. Can I just do this with a CNAME alias? pics points to picasaweb.google.com?
I'm by no means an expert at this, I'm just tired of going to picasa.google.com and then realizing thats not what I need. (yes I realize I could download Picasa 3 but I don't like it) 10/21/2012 8:29:22 PM |

I remember trying to do that once, and I think the best I could do is have all traffic to (our domain) go to (their domain's root index page).
Still it's worth a shot, and I hope that GoDaddy lets you do set up CNAMEs to domains you don't own. 10/21/2012 9:13:53 PM |

Yeah, you can do all that on Godaddy, our other cnames work fine. It worked at one point for google drive, but I can't remember how I did it. The way it's setup would just take us to google.com. 10/21/2012 9:20:06 PM |

Looks like google only has mapping for core services, damnit. Oh we'll, not a huge deal. (Am I correct since I am not going to their base domain it would require mapping on googles side?)
Problem solved, thanks google: http://www.google.com/enterprise/marketplace/viewListing?productListingId=5143210+6352879591152674960
