I'd like to see if Jake or Joe could put somebody in charge of moderating all this shit going on in The Garage and keep it on an intelligent level of discussion. I am personally tired of seeing Chit Chat topics in there and threads torn apart due to idiots. I know myself and many others read car forums and maybe administer a couple like I do.. if there was any way to put somebody in the position to moderate just The Garage I would love it.

i agree with the garage moderator idea... and i'd like to nominate breezer to do it. Lee is fair and knowledgeable, and he'd be a great decision. he's not one of these assholes that make people not even wanna post in the garage, because of their "i know more and am better than you" attitudes.

yeahm the toothpaste thread was pure tech talk. we were mocking our own geekdom which I find incredably amusing.

but I think setting up a moderator for specific forums is a bad idea. I mean granted things get off topic but will we end up with moderators everywhere? and who's to say one person's comment isn't worthy of being posted...assinine as the comment may be, I don't think that moderation will be good for a forum as open as TWW.

I've thought many times of asking jake and joe for moderation over Tech Talk after some idiot posted blatantly poor/misleading advice. but over time I decided that it would hurt tech talk a lot more in the long run. who's to say that I wouldn't censor something that would actually be a good idea? I don't know everything afterall.

Jake and Joe have the say in this - its their board.. and this is merely a suggestion. As in my message board I have the say on who's comment is worthy of being posted.. if I find it irrelevant to the topic, I move it to the correct forum. Thanks for completly missing the point... my argument for thinking there should be a moderator lies within the forum itself. Read it.. its calmed down but still entirely pointless... it looks like Chit Chat 2 quite often. With respect to Jake and Joe - I would think they try to keep the topics and lines of discussion remotely close to what would fall within the forum specifics. The bullshit that has been going there is no different than much of what I see in The Lounge or Chit Chat. The past few threads on there were just giving me a headache even trying to read... so that is why I say I would rather not even post in it.

There is no point in trying to make any logical points or help out anybody if in the very next post somebody is going to come in acting like a 16yr old with all the knowledge in the world flaming everybody just because he can. This is close to what pissed some ppl off in the tech talk area awhile ago and its understandable.. but at least it was just random shit that could be ignored. Most of this has been personal attacks on the very knowledge somebody is trying to actually pass on to somebody else in need.. which is what I assumed the entire point of having the garage forum was for (to talk about and discuss that type of material).

So this has nothing to do with them reconstructing any approach.. they moderate however they want to.. delete what they want and leave what they want.... but my posting this was in asking if they could at least do something about the damn gibberish being posted in there because it makes the forum entirely useless. The suggestion was if they didn't want to - or if they didn't know what would be deemed worthy of a post for such a forum - then find anyone else on here who would be good for that and let them do so.

In any case... the stupid ass posts have at least become watered down due to others posting more so you don't have to see the crap still sitting there - but still... I can only imagine some of the shit that will still be posted in the future. I just don't like having to waste my time reading bullshit to get to something worth reading.. exactly why I rarely read Chit Chat (and in many cases Soap Box) in the first place.

Im sure you don't really care since you do nothing but post in the forums I don't find the least bit fun to read.. but you do - your thing vs. mine.. thats why I care and would even think to throw a tantrum about it. I just read a lot of car forums and actually enjoyed this one with the few others I frequent for not having a lot of bullshit or flaming posts in them. That is why I was glad Jake and Joe made the section.
