...according to the mistress of the CIA director. Especially interesting considering the President specifically banned the CIA from detaining individuals in 2009. 11/15/2012 12:32:36 AM |

BBC headline story on the radio. Fox claims they have another source confirming it.
Torture was not mentioned(just prisoners), but hey, it's the CIA, it's what they do.
It's what we do.
We're Americans; we torture people. Not really news to anyone.
Quote : | "While Executive Order 13491, signed on January 22, 2009, orders the closure of all CIA detention facilities (aka “Black Sites”), Section 2(g) specifically states:
The terms ‘detention facilities’ and ‘detention facility’ in section 4(a) of this order do not refer to facilities used only to hold people on a short-term, transitory basis." |
Aren't we all on this planet on a "short-term, transitory basis", philosophically speaking?

Please to provide a link to where the mistress said that. I see nothing on BBC, AJE or in mine google news feed.
I'm not saying your wrong, I'd just like to read it

I'll let you choose your own source, who knows if any of them can be trusted. She let it slip during a speech a month or so ago. No one was paying attention to her at the time.

A)The building in Benghazi is called a consulate, not an embassy. B)The mistress was referring to the CIA Annex, a completely separate building. C)She's full of shit. D)You're full of shit.
If for some reason the CIA was detaining prisoners in the CIA Annex, they were doing it in direct violation of Executive Order 13491 and will be punished for it. What your rampant speculation has to do with the attack on the Benghazi consulate remains a mystery.

Nah, the White House should just tweet every nugget of intel it gets as it comes in, surely that wont lead to conflicting stories and tabloid-like speculation and propagation of rumors and falsehoods among the public.11/15/2012 11:47:18 AM |

Yeah, I know. All the way up to the Director level, no one at the CIA has ever faced the consequences of their actions.

It is the duty of the government to prove my vague and unfounded assertions false.
It hasn't happened yet.
Even if Benghazi wasn't a torture dungeon I'm sure they have others. The precise location isn't important. We all know they still torture.

Best thread for this. So Petraeous testified this morning. All I see on twitter is conservatives throwing around impeachment and citing Rep King. But then I see what he actually said and it seems that Petreaus pretty much absolved Obama and the WH of any politicizing at all and confirmed what he said.
What am I missing? 11/16/2012 12:52:06 PM |

Quote : | "Bradley Manning back in the news:
FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) — An Army private charged in the biggest security breach in U.S. history is trying to avoid trial by claiming he was already punished enough when he was locked up alone in a small cell and forced to sleep naked for several nights.
Pfc. Bradley Manning was expected to testify about his treatment during a pretrial hearing set to begin Tuesday and run through Sunday in a military court at Fort Meade, outside Baltimore.
His lawyers contend Manning was illegally punished by being locked up alone in a small cell for nearly nine months at the Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Va., and having to sleep naked for several nights.

The State Department Accountability Review Board just released its AAR and findings on the Benghazi attacks. Its worth checking out if you're still interested in how things went down, they provide a pretty detailed outline of events in the middle of the document. 12/19/2012 3:55:21 PM |
