...sooo if you google lenovo warehouse sale, TWW is kinda one of the first links to talk about it, haha. No one has brought this up for a while, and I was kinda interested in seeing if anyone went last year, and if anyone's planning to go this year.

I know they have the Outlet to distribute things now, which has definitely shown some deals the past 6 months. But any thoughts or insider information?

Is it still allowed as one of those Black Friday-ish events where the first dozen people snag up as much of the best comps and laptops they can to go resell on ebay or is it a little more civilized and limited with more chances of an average joe actually getting a better deal worth the wait?

Looking over past discussion threads, it appears that is used to be a civil place.

I remember some IBM employee family going when it was just open to employees.

But then the latest thread mentioned the reseller problem and lack of employee-only pre-public sale - and then no one posted about 2011..

I asked my one family member at IBM, he had no insider knowledge. I wonder when the list gets put up - 5 minutes before the door opens?

We used to put out the list beforehand, but GSC sometimes has a hard time getting their shit together so they'll be handing a list out at the door.

I know they were finalizing the list today and still have to make sure they don't load stuff on the truck that needs to fulfill open outlet orders. I can try to get a final list from them on Monday.

Unfortunately it will probably be a madhouse at first with a bunch of resellers buying all the good stuff.

I hate these warehouse sales, huge pain in my ass.

My coworker has a good friend at Lenovo who gets him the list in advance. He and my other coworker both went last year and picked up a few good deals. I am going to check out enlist and may see about picking up a laptop or two.

if someone has a list please post as Im looking for a new laptop.

I went to this two years ago and snagged two brand new T61p 9 cell batteries for $40 each...well worth the time waiting in line since they cost $140 each normally.

I'll get one from the guys in the warehouse on Monday. I know some of the stuff already cause I had to pull it off the outlet, but I don't know what else they're bringing that wasn't on the outlet yet.

^^ obviously that depends on what kind of laptop it is. It will be a pretty wide range of products. I'm not sure what kind of discounts they have planned without seeing the list. They're usually pretty deep considering this is a last ditch effort to get rid of it.

Woot, thanks for the update. Looks like I'll be keeping my eyes on the Y-series ones, the 470 and the 560p.. Really curious about the price points.

Not that I'm aware of yet, but it still possible. Won't know until I get that final list.

Generally the warehouse sale is trying to get rid of older stuff, so current models are usually pretty limited.

^^ There may be some new in box items, especially accessories. Won't really know exactly what until I get the list.

I'd suggest getting there early, there's usually a line waiting outside. It's first come first serve, so if you're in the back, it will likely be slim pickings. Lot's of people show up to buy large quantities either for family or for resell on ebay and such.

^Not sure about ultrabooks since those are relatively new products. Again, won't know yet until I get the full list. We could have been getting ultrabooks back in returns that were never even put on the outlet and just set aside for the warehouse sale.

^ you'll want to get there earlier than that if you want a good selection. I got there at 7 two years ago and was probably #150 in line.

thanks for the list!

im looking for something ultrabook-ish. Im starting grad school in January and its time to replace my current laptop. Something that is small (atleast 13" screen) and light. Not going to use it for much more than writing papers, taking notes, and browsing the web.

Im not very familiar with Lenovo computers, but it looks like the U300s or u400 is the best bet? Any recommendations?

Some of the laptops are licensed for "Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - French"

...and I see a couple other languages mixed in there. Guess it's worthwhile to pay attention if you actually care what you're buying.

Canada doesn't have a way to disposition old product, so it gets sent down here to be sold on the US outlet.

When you first start the machine you can still set the OS to english, but you'll still have a french keyboard.

can anyone recommend a good smaller laptop for grad school from the list?

I think my first choice is the U300s, seems perfect for my needs/wants. 2nd choice would be the u400.

Im planning on getting out there by 6am. Should I go earlier? Also, if someone gets there super early and wants to hold onto a u300s for me until I get in i'd be forever grateful to ya!

I know those B575 notebooks are going to go quick, hopefully I'll be able to snag one.

I got the G770 with similar specs from the online outlet for a similar price except it was "French"; it's actually French Canadian, still QWERTY but a little odd (enter and shift keys are strangely shaped) and you can set it up in english. Don't let that stop you from buying if you're interested in a "French" model

Here's the list I was provided today. It looks smaller than the list NightHawk gave, no idea why though.
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B40d3T59bXtXLTE0RXRMN1FkZlU

I bought my wife a U300s and really like it. Light, quiet, doesn't get hot (unless you're charging it) and its super quick. I'd get one for myself but I need a bigger screen with higher resolution.

I hope I like the u300s, I think I will. I worry about it being too small. I have a v570 that I am using (I have to give it back in a few months) and I do like the size of it (15in), however I think I can get used to a 13.3", especially if its so portable. If they dont have the u300s, im going to go for the u400 (not sure which i'll chose if I get my hands on both).

a couple of questions
1) If I get there between 5:30-6am, will I have a pretty good chance at getting the laptop I want?

2) Once I get inside, how is it organized? Like how will I know where to go to find the laptop im after? Is it just a mad rush to a bunch of tables or shelves or what?

3) Where do I go? I'd hate to be waiting in line in the wrong place. I've attached a google map of the address listed. Can someone familiar with where to go mark it for me?

I just recently moved out of an Optiplex desktop into a T530 for my work machine and I've been very happy with it so far. Pretty lightweight for a 15 inch laptop and runs very well after throwing some extra RAM in it.

Don't usually keep a personal laptop at the house but after working with the T530 I wouldn't mind getting an ideapad or older thinkpad to mess around with. Sounds like all the good stuff is gone pretty fast so I don't think i'll be going out but good luck to you folks heading out there tomorrow.

It will be in the building with the marker on it, that's building 3. There will be signs around the parking lot and buildings directing you where to go. I haven't been to one here (only at the warehouse in whitsett) so I'm not sure exactly how it will be laid out and organized inside. They'll likely have it split up by types of products, with higher quantities on pallets. Being first come first serve it will probably be pretty hectic. I'd get there as early as possible. Nothing wrong with being first in line.

These guys in front are talking about how they manage the inventory.. There is a counter that we go up to with the sale ID and they tell us it's already sold out?

There's 200 of the laptop I want, hopefully these 50-60 people in front of me don't take them all...

so I just got home and was able to get my laptop I wanted. I got home to find out that apparently i didnt fully read the description. this thing has a french canadian keyboard. Keys are in the same place, but it has extra keys that make it hard to type on. mainly the shift and enter keys are moved slightly different, so i keep missing htem
