Before you flame me, just know that I am completely illiterate when it comes to iPods, iTunes, etc etc. I got my first iPod last year and I barely use it. That is the whole reason I am coming here to ask this question.

My GF's computer crashed and I had to do a clean restore to get it back up and running. Well, this caused her to lose all her music, approximately 3,000 songs. How can I pull those songs from her iPod and put them back on her computer? From my understanding, if I sync the iPod it will just wipe it clean since there are no songs on the computer.

She also has an iPhone 4s, so I may need to do the same for that as well. Although I believe her iPod and iPhone are already synced.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, because she is pretty close to killing me over this one.

I lost my ipod for a while, then found it after losing my music via a crashed hard drive. I seem to remember using a program called iDump for transferring my files to a new hard drive from my ipod after finding it.

I believe that I found said program online, and for free. It appears to be a paid program now, but I'm sure free counterparts are still around.

I haven't loaded iTunes onto the restored computer yet, and I don't plan to until I can figure out how to get the music off of the iPod. Common sense tells me that an iPod should be no different than any other mass storage device (flash drive, external HD, etc). I guess I just really need to know what is the best program to treat it as such.

Was her copy of iTunes connected to an Apple ID? If so, you should just be able to connect the new copy of iTunes to that same Apple ID.

Pretty sure I used a program called EphPod or similar when I had to do this back in like 2003.
