yep, I have had shitloads of trade offers for bass boats, giant jacked up trucks with tons of chrome and shit, and several choppers. 12/25/2012 11:28:25 PM |

Outside of some pieces valuable to collectors, choppers are the best example of a product that is only worth what the buyer thinks it's worth, or maybe a sum of its parts. Sellers always seem to think that their choppers are worth outrageous amount of money because they were custom built by hand, and base their asking price based on what they paid to the builder. Well guess what, it was built according to the original owner's taste, so the whole custom thing rally makes it irrelevant to the next owner. THe fact that they are built by hand can be just as much of a disadvantage as an advantage as fit and reliability vary by builder. Also, chopper craze that spurred while OCC was on TV flooded the market with unimaginateively designed, off-the-shelf-part-bin built bikes like the one above. Knowing how much you value performance, I don't see why you would ever possibly choose that bike over hundreds of other custom-built and even mass-produced motorcycles. 12/25/2012 11:32:33 PM |

Right, all of that is why something like this is awfully hard to put a value on.
I don't want this bike, hahaha, hell no. I want to take it in trade if it's financially advantageous, as I've had a tough time selling the 'Vette. 12/25/2012 11:51:45 PM |

even though it was built in 2006 and has barely any miles on it, it looks dated
I can't see anyone paying $17k for it, but rednex are dumb 12/26/2012 11:03:43 AM |

What are you asking for the vette? PS: Don't take the chopper, sounds like a nightmare to try to sell it (hence as somebody said above, it's being offered in trade)... 12/26/2012 1:03:24 PM |

^, ^^ those were my thoughts, but I figured I'd ask, since I don't know choppers.
I had it listed at $17.9, then $17.5. I took it off the market recently until I could replace the (slightly cracked) radiator, and then a gear whine (output shaft bearing???) got somewhat worse. It drives and shifts the same as it always has; it has made that noise for ~50k miles, but got noticeably worse this week. I'd take $14,000 for it if you want it. Text me ASAP if so. 12/26/2012 3:14:42 PM |
