Adam and Joe announced at least 3 hockey interviews at the beginning of the show.

I guess I'll have to switch over to the national stations. I know we have a local team but outside the small (admittedly very dedicated) following people just don't care.

I personally would be inclined to turn the station if whatever show I was listening to decided to dedicate serious time to it, but I'll refrain from bashing the sport because I can empathize with hockey fans being a big soccer fan myself. Both get undue hate from the masses.

In other news, Jay Mohr Sports is pretty damn entertaining. When he was clowning that wooden shack they kept taking RGIII into a Fedex Field I almost lost it today.

I'm just saying they've spent 25 minutes today on Hockey and only covered the Carolina loss in the bumps. With NFL, NBA, and college hoops (w/ a carolina loss) and CF National Championship game, they covered 25 minutes of hockey in a little over an hour.


I feel the same way when sportscenter spends 1/3 of an hour on soccer. It just feels forced upon.

I enjoy listening to the Ovies and Gold on the ride home. Cowherd sucks ass, I can't listen to Rome, and Mike & Mike is for women. I like SVP, but he's about the only non-local sports talk person I can take.

Are there really that many hockey fans in this area to justify the inordinate amount of time spent on the topic on local radio? I just haven't seen that many, outside of the carolina bandwagon flood of '06. I would guess around 3 in 20 actually pays any attention, and about 1 of those 3 actually gives a fuck.

I catch the DP show sometimes when I am traveling. I do think his show is funny, but I don't hear it enough to lay claim one way or the other.

That's why I just put on the IheartRadio app now. Brett Jensen is the absolute worst.

They would do so much better to put on at least one national show. Cut one hour off of the 4 hour Mac Attack and do DP from 9-12 just to mix it up a little... You get so beat over the head with the same topics for 13 hours a day on 610

Yeah 610 in Charlotte was getting bad when I left this summer. Problem is you get the same callers day in and day out all sucking Carolina's dick.

At least Atlanta has some variety mainly SEC talk and Falcons shit but they at least talk about more than just Tar Heels and Panthers

Adam and Joe are ok, but they think that they have to be condescending and "snarky" to every person with an opinion different from theres, so I can only take them in doses.

Mark and Mike are horrible, anytime Mark talks I feel like I'm listening to a third grader - that is, of course, unless he or his son are talking about Brightleaf fucking hot dogs

Steve Logan is filling in for DG today and it might be the most enjoyable sports radio I've listened to...ever

jesus christ, let me give you a few of my jensen pet peeves, aside from the fact that he sucks in general

- overuses the word 'literally' when naming all the show's sponsors...for example, andrew blair's literally has the hottest women in charlotte and if you order angry ale's chicken nachos, literally each chip has a piece of chicken on it
- says "nine six one zero" when giving phone numbers, when they're supposed to say "nine six ten" since thats the name of the station
- has the complete arrogance all his opinions are correct, kind of like mark packer, except packer was right a lot more often than jensen
- always shits on nc state

whats the deal with the 10-12 timeslot...when it was mac attack from 6-11 and frank and buck/bustin loose from 11-3 it was nice...i'd almost rather listen to cowherd than jensen

I am growing tired of Dan Patrick these days, he gets on his soapbox too much and just constantly rehashes the same topics for three hours. Not to mention half his show is full of dipshit mouth breathers calling in to give what they think is an expert opinion. If I wanted to hear losers call in and give their opinion I would listen to plenty of the garbage local shows where that is all the content they have.

Even with the Cowboys talk, the local station in Dallas in the best I have ever heard, I think the 4-7 PM show has taken maybe two calls this year.

I don't listen to Rome much anymore but his view on the program is better with more of me and less of you is spot on.

I'm with you. I hate being "preached" to about social issues through the guise of sports talk radio. It's like the actual game itself doesn't even matter anymore as all these media types are interested in is controversy.

Petros and Money is the most entertaining show for me by a mile. They always keep it light and funny.

I believe they are up for the Marconi (sp?) this year too.

Never brings up topics like the Pirates are having their greatest season in 21 years and the amazing division races going on in baseball right now. I despise call in shows. The more calls your show has the less likely I am to enjoy it. If I tune into a show its because I want to hear the host(s). I don't even like spending 2/3rds of the shows on interviews but I realize that's a bit of a necessity to fill time.
