They go on sale 2.1.13 but the line up won't be available until late April.

^^I think he was trying to point out that the tickets go on sale before the lineup comes out, which wasn't really mentioned in your post. Not trying to upstage/repeat your detailed post.

The early-bird price on 3-day wristbands may bring my run as a VIP to an end.

I heard the Friday headliner will be a lot of "fun." and Saturday will be headlined by somebody that you used to know.

(credit goes to Scrumples' LMFAO trolling last year)

I heard that on Friday you'll be seeing a "Semi-Charmed Kind of" show. And on Saturday you'll really want to "Save Tonight" and keep your "Eagle Eye"s peeled because it's gonna be a really good time.

Really, because I heard people might "become so Numb" to the Saturday pre-headliner that they might start "Breaking the Habit" of going to Hopscotch. In the end, it doesn't even matter.

(listening to shitty music when I was 16 finally pays off)

I think I said that about Moogfest (or Mountain Oasis Mirage Summit or whatever the hell it is now), for the record.

Sometimes I just want to blow my home stereo up and out to Dreamers of the Ghetto and say, "FUCK MUSIC." ...and throw all my records away and never listen to another song again.

how "priority" is "priority access"? like straight up skipping the line?

cause the memory of the line for best coast still haunts me. Had the regular three day pass and couldn't get in.

Yes, you straight up skip the line.

If it's full and there's no other VIPs waiting, you're the first one in. If there are three VIPs waiting in line, all three get in before anyone in the normal line.

there may only be a few occasions each festival where the VIP skip is necessary to save your bacon, but man it's fucking clutch when it does

Lowenhagen said this year the VIP will really pay off. I told him I already bought one and asked again, and he reiterated. We'll see.

The peace of mind alone is worth it to me.

I'm super nervous about not being VIP, but just couldn't justify the difference in price with early bird. I'm sure I'll end up missing something I wanted to see, but part of the fun of Hopscotch is seeing random stuff you didn't plan on.

i had made up my mind i was going to just do all-show this year because of the price difference but changed my mind about a minute before buying my wristband and went with VIP. i don't regret it one bit.

Grayson mocked Foxygen on twitter for a while today due to their name.

Because it's a much worse name than his beloved tweetjizzworthy Dreamers of the Ghetto.

Quote :
"Sam France announced to the crowd that the festival was testing his physical limits. "I am empty," he said. It makes sense-- SXSW is a demanding gig, and if you scream, move, and perform with the sort of intensity France does, you're going to wear down pretty fast. But after telling everybody that his voice was shot and that he was running on fumes, a few people in the audience told him to stop whining-- that he's a musician and this is his job. France's wide-eyed reply? "Come on stage and talk to me about it, you fucking coward. Come on, get on the fucking stage." He calmed down long enough to play "In the Darkness", said goodbye, and walked off the stage. The band sort of looked at each other, a bit exhausted, and apologized to the audience for cutting the set short.

But then, France came back and offered a sincere apology, both for walking off stage and for taking his anger out on that audience member. "I'm sorry about what I said earlier to that guy. I wasn't even talking to him-- I was talking to myself." And then, they pulled out a crashing, powerful performance of "On Blue Mountain". By the end of their set, I kept thinking that France didn't need to apologize for his vocals or his energy level in the first place-- the guy was a fantastic showman and his voice sounded great the whole time. If this is what an exhausted Foxygen look like, I'd definitely be curious to see them at full power. "

From their 506 show: "Have you guys seen our Pitchfork review? They fucking love us."

It was not the only horribly obnoxious thing they said that night. Granted, they're children, and plenty of bands are just as snotty.
