A buddy bought me this game as a Christmas present, and I've really been enjoying it. There's a real emphasis on dialogue and dilemma, and because of that it almost feels like a Quantic or Bioware game. Have any of you checked it out? I'm on episode four at the moment.

Yep, I finished it a month or two ago. I thought it was pretty cool, although I really wonder how much different it would be if you choose different paths. I have a feeling most of the choices don't make much of a difference, although I can think of a few that would have changed the game (letting one person live over another, etc.)

What's it like? I think the Back to the Future games they made a little while ago were in the same style, but I never played those.

Is it a choose your own adventure game, or is it more like a series of QTEs like Dragon's Lair? Combo of both?

I'm no expert on adventure games, so I will describe what you do: solve puzzles, QTEs for combat, lots of important dialogue choices, and several times where you choose who wil live between two people... and I was surprised at how long those consequences last. The puzzles are not especially difficult, but at least they make sense. I don't appreciate games that have really obscure solutions to complex puzzles. The atmosphere, story, voice acting, and dialogue are some of the best I've seen.

The character Clementine works really well. It both gives you a feeling of responsibility and often guilt about what you're doing. Any other game would turn this relationship into a fucking escort mission, but there's none of that here.

Agree. I feel completely responsible for Clementine. I always talk to her first, and I make most of my decisions based on her.

I, too, wonder about how different it can be. It seems mostly a matter of who's still in your story and how willing people are to help you. At one point in the middle of an escape from walkers, some bad stuff happened as a matter of a characters opinion

Picked this up the other day. Still haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Interested to see if it can in fact make me cry because I am a heartless, soulless bastard.

i'm in the middle of 3. haha i'm usually the type of person that saves then tries multiple options, but you can't really do that in this game. stresses me out a little bit due to not knowing what the consequences are for some decisions.

but great great game, definitely should be considered for GOTY in my opinion.

This game's story is so good that my fiancee is actually watching me play. This is a first people. The characters from the show popping up in the game helps too.

Another aspect of this game that I enjoyed was the stats at the end of each chapter letting you know what percentage of players made the decisions that you did.

Just finished it today making all of the "good" decisions. I'm gonna play through again this week making the "bad" decisions to see how it changes. Definitely a sad ending though, but I kind of expected that. There aren't that many zombie tales that have a happy ending.
