does anyone else have trouble with this?

well generally it's not significant, but a lot of times I can tell when I'm about to get a PM, because I'll refresh the page and it'll take a bit for the next page to load

seems like it kinda temporarily freezes my browser (sometimes only for a few seconds, sometimes up to about 10 seconds), and then once I get to the next page I can see I have a PM

why does it do that?

is there any way to prevent that? I don't remember that being a problem until maybe last year

There is a sound file that is played when you get a pm. On Firefox, I remember this never working. On IE it works and I think it works on Chrome...

What browser do you have?

yeah that's got to be it

I'm using FF

I noticed when I first started using it after a HD format, it would look for a missing plugin to play that sound. I'm pretty sure I have it disabled too (I think.. if that's even an option)

but ok, that gives me some peace of mind, I guess :3

it's the QuickTime plugin; IMO you should block plugins by default, like I turn on click-to-play in Chrome and all I notice is the green text
