I'm just wondering who they're gonna have guard Howell and Leslie. McAdoo will guard one, but who on the other? Bullock? in the paint? That leaves Hairston on Wood and what, McDonald on TJ Warren??? With Paige guarding Lorenzo? Seriously?

Even though they've figured out their lineup a little bit I still don't see who guards Howell/Leslie in the post. Plus their new lineup makes them a faster paced team on the break, which plays into our style of play. I honestly wouldn't be surprised with any outcome, hopefully we play like we did tonight against FSU though.

if we win we should be ranked. UNC looked terrible vs GT tonight, but GT was determined to cough it up. I think they went like 8 minutes scoreless in the second half.

^^Yeh, but hes reached double figures in minutes in only 1 of their last 3 games. For a majority of the game, they are going to have a combo of McAdoo, McDonald, Paige, Hairston, Strickland and Bullock in. That is 5 guards and 1 PF. We combat that with one of the stronger front lines in the ACC. Maybe they use their quickness to get inside and draw fouls on CJ and Howell. We'll see.

^Not necessarily. Our home stretch is much easier than UNC's. They still have to play @UMD and home vs Duke. Our toughest remaining game other than UNC is away from home against a team we just beat by 18.

Huge game, needless to say - Last regular season game against a (probable) tourney team, plus being on the road is huge for NCAA seeding. Win and we have a 1 game lead for 4th place bye, plus the tie-breaker against them, plus they still have to play Duke. And oh yeah GTHC.

But for those saying "play like we did against FSU"...Whittenburg wasn't a great analyst, but he was absolutely right in that FSU didn't box us out. Thats why we dominated. And thats why teams like UMD & UVA gave us trouble. Leslie and Warren will kill any team that doesn't box out well (Howell will get his boards regardless).

UNC is improving every game, but I still think we got this.

If UNC is hitting their 3s on Sat, watch the fuck out. We cannot let Hairston and Bullock both drop 20+ on us. We did a better job at keeping FSU from bombing away on us, but they are not a good shooting team.

Howell and Leslie as always need to stay out of foul trouble, but if one does pick up a few, a lineup of Lewis, Brown, Purvis, Warren, and Howell/CJL should still be able to matchup reasonably well with UNC's main 5.

If we have a good first half, I think we win. We cannot have another 1st half like we did at Duke. UNC is playing their best basketball of the season and this game sets up for some serious NC State shit.

Had a good feeling about our game at home with them. Not feeling as sure about our game there, mainly because I'm not sure how we'll match-up with their new look.

They hit 3's and get some help from the refs, and could be a rough one. Mitigate either of those 2, and it'll be a dogfight. They go cold from 3 and the refs call it fair or are generous to us(hahaha) then we could win comfortably.

Not sure if I'll have the stomach/heart to watch it, could cause ulcers haha.

I'm most worried how we will match up with them defensively. I know they have a defensive matchup problem as well; however, their quickness can help with that. I fear that Wood/Howell/Leslie trying to guard their fast line-up is a nightmare. We either let them rain 3s or drive to the basket for easy points and/or fouls.

I think the big question will be which team will dictate the game. Will it be Roy's small lineup where 4 guards knock down the long balls all day or will it be our domination of the paint that forces their hand. I think it's a very interesting matchup that we will get the best of. An early start will be huge. The wine and cheese folks of the Dean Dome are more interested in their next tee time when the heels go cold and that place gets quiet.
