Ok... so say your engine has a VE of ~80%
Does that mean the first ~3 psi doesn't actually effect the calculated compression ratio... since it's just compensating for the engines in-ability to fill up the actual displacement of the engine?

well... 12-14 psi will give me end of the world kind of power so i don't need to build for too crazy (deep into 4 digits)

from my limited and albeit outdated experience, peak cylinder pressure and total CFM were what mattered in terms of building for resilience and power. that said, I would opt for a higher compression ratio with more usable power since the car will be on the street most of the time. less wear on the turbo(s) as well. 3/11/2013 1:57:51 PM |
