My '04 Tacoma with the 3.4L V6 and 195,000 miles has a gremlin:

The rattling noise occurs with the engine off but the key in the run position (think: waiting somewhere with the a/c fan on but the engine off) and goes away when I manipulate the throttle cable. It usually has to be pretty warm for it to occur (it'll probably do it today) and goes away when electrical power is removed from the system.

Thoughts?

^ +1

Could be bad, could just be something stuck in it.

I'll check it out. Check engine light flashed briefly under hard acceleration this afternoon so it may provide a clue. We'll see.

IAC has been brought up but the truck has no issues at idle so . . .
