So the new thing is the Stage 2+ E85 GTRs fucking haul ... and any retard can do it.

It annoys the crap out of me these punks with no skill having thaaaat much power at their hands...

It's like every forum too... track day guys are getting passed by these talentless asshats (think EVO VIII x2) the drag guys are, the street guys are... it's just nuts...

I mean i will give it to nissan... they've made one of the best platforms ever... 3k in mods + a new tranny when you blow it up and you're in the low 10 sec 1/4 miles...

I don't see a problem with taking the responsibility of shifting away from the driver. I do think you have to learn to control vehicle dynamics while manually shifting if you want to consider yourself a complete driver. I can see how taking it away allows a driver to focus on hitting the right lines and loading the weight distribution through power/braking with both hands on the wheel which will make them a better driver in the long run. These transmissions are nothing like the shitboxes that were available when I started driving too. As long as the driver can appreciate the skill required to make a manual transmission car handle and admit to their personal shortcomings I don't have a problem with it. I can see the beef when these guys start talking like they're Mario Andretti though. There will always be something new to learn for most of us regardless of whether we're shifting the transmission or not. That's part of the fun.

yeah.. knowing how to launch without looping it and/or frying the clutch isn't trivial. I've been on the wrong side of that and almost ass packed a guy in a starting grid once. A friend looped it last year and was only on a 750 and she's no novice racer. power shifting without tearing up your transmission isn't trivial either because there's no way you're getting a time like that using the clutch after the launch.

dead on. most ducati riders are complete posers and totally annoying but they make some fairly capable gear. the 848evo is ridiculous, especially for being allowed to compete with 600's but 9/10 times I'll out ride the guy on his 1098 on my 2003 zx6r just on cornerspeed. doesn't mean I wouldn't ride one.

Yeah, it was just what the Viper/Vette/Ferrari/Lambo crowd were waiting for.
