I bet you can find the same article written in 1979 about Carter and 1997 about Clinton

starting a thread based on a foxnews op-ed piece? come on man. there's plenty of other places you could have posted that link. we know that you're offended that some of us think that a lot of the republican in the GA are insane, and that they're wasting time and our money with a plethora of stupid bills, but calm down bro. 5/16/2013 1:53:53 PM |

there is nothing as fair and balanced as Fox, but here is another viewpoint from WRAL. 5/16/2013 2:05:23 PM |

Quote : | "So far, there's no evidence that Obama knew about - let alone was involved in - the government actions in question. But a president usually is held accountable for his administration's actions, and Republicans now have material to fuel accusations and congressional hearings that they hope will embarrass him, erode his credibility and bolster their argument that his government is overreaching. Even some of his Democratic allies are publicly expressing dismay at the AP phone records seizure.
Obama advisers on Tuesday cast the trio of controversies as matters that flare up in an institution as complex as the U.S. government, and they questioned the impact of them. The one exception, advisers said, was the brewing scandal at the Internal Revenue Service, which they see as the issue most likely to strike a chord with Americans. " |
It's all political at this point.
The damage was always very minuscule to begin with, but the Republicans are going to hammer away at that wedge of doubt (and who wouldn't, in their shoes?).
The Obama admin's biggest mistake, which they've been doing for a long while before the AP thing, was pissing off the press. While the Republicans will always have Fox News to advocate for them, Obama needs to stay in the good graces of reporters to remain optimistic, and he doesn't necessarily have this anymore.
It's going to take some amazing political moves to come out of this with strength to spare, or this 2nd term will go down as one of the lamest duck terms ever.
There's politicians now saying the EPA targeted conservative groups, which is most likely bullshit, but who's going to take this angle at this point? Even a "wait and see" can be as damaging as "here's proof they did this".5/16/2013 7:18:54 PM |

I need to see polling data on who actually believes these "scandals" before I can give them any credibility. This could very well be just a terribly bored mainstream media looking for controversy. 5/16/2013 7:43:18 PM |

Unless it comes out that Obama knew about the targeting by IRS, that has no staying power, but it would resonate with the common man the most (taxes, thought police, etc.).
The AP thing hurts his credibility with progressives more than conservatives, because I think he can trick enough conservatives by saying he was looking out for national security. Only conservatives who already hated Obama care about Benghazi. 5/16/2013 7:51:10 PM |

This likely wouldn't have happened without citizens united.
Which is actually Hillary's fault.
