I have an overflow of servers, and while its a long shot as usual on TWW who knows . . .
1: Sun SPARC Enterprise T5220 8-Core Web/Virtualization Servers
I have a dozen or so of these. Rack mount rail kits are included. Featuring an 8-Core 1.2GHz UltraSPARC T2 processor with 64-Thread capability and supporting up to 128GB of RAM and 8x SAS or SATA hard drives they make fantastic web or database servers. Built-in virtualization support allows for up to 64 virtual machines running a variety of operating systems. If you want a really nice home server, web server, or just want to improve your Solaris or Linux skills on a real machine they ought to be perfect.
Specifications:
8-Core 1.2GHz UltraSPARC T2 Processor, 64-Thread Support 16x Memory Slots (Supporting DDR2 ECC Memory, up to 8Gb per slot) 8x SAS/SATA 2.5" Hard Drive Cage Slot-Load CD-RW/DVD-RW Optical Drive Quad (4x) 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet 6x PCI Express Low-Profile Expansion Slots Ethernet and Serial Management Ports 4x USB 2.0 Ports Dual Redundant Power Supplies
Asking $500 each
2: Sun SPARC Enterprise T2000 4-Core Servers
Similar to the above, but not quite as high-end or expandable. Still absolutely great for web or database servers, and definitely more affordable.
Specifications:
4-Core 1.06GHz UltraSPARC T1 Processor, 16-Thread Support (4 per core) 16x Memory Slots (Supporting DDR2 ECC Memory, up to 2Gb per slot) 4x SAS/SATA 2.5" Hard Drive Cage Slot-Load CD-RW/DVD-RW Optical Drive Quad (4x) 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet 3x PCI Express and 2x PCI-X Low-Profile Expansion Slots Ethernet and Serial Management Ports 4x USB Ports Dual Redundant Power Supplies
Asking $180 each
3: NetApp Storage Array
Obviously the longest shot, but who knows heh. This monstrous array can take up to 168 SATA drives and will handle all RAID and management functions internally, allowing you to simply hook it up to your network and use it transparently . . . . via Fibre, Ehternet, iSCSI, whatever you like. The array consists of two NetApp FAS 3050c filers and 12 DS14MK2 Disk Shelves, each of which can accommodate up to 14 drives for 168 total. Everything is housed in a NetApp fully enclosed server rack with front and rear locking doors and casters, and the system is fully wired. All cabling, power cords, and power distribution panels are included, plug it up and go.
