i noticed this by accident...

if you create a link and put the word .link at the end of it it automatically makes it a link.

http://www.woot.link

dont know why

at first i thought you had made it automatically insert link tags like i asked for a while back, i was excited just to realize it was a glitch or something.

i tried to make a filter that would automatically catch links. i can do it right with some nasty code but i am trying to figure out a clean method. so far it is working kinda screwy

does that have anything to do with it linkifying things with .link?

can't you just use a REX and do it pretty easily?

ftp://ftp.jake.com
http://www.test.com http://www.jake.com/jake.aspx?jake=jake

it should be catching everything now

and i have no idea what REX is!

the regular expression i use to catch these things is:
(?<![\[\]\<\>\=])(http\://|https\://|mailto\:|ftp\://)([A-Za-z0-9\$\&\+\,\/\:\;\=\?\@\-_\.\!\*\']+)

it is a real pain in the ass cause i don't want to be catching things that are already in anchor tags or are in the [link] tags. originally i mandated that there be a space or cr before and after the links. this prevented them from being in parentheses, at the beginning of a post, at the end of a post, etc

REX = Regular Expresion

yeah that makes sence now that you don't want to parse stuff that's already being linked via <A> etc...

i'm glad you got that working! ive thougth that'd be a good idea for some time.

hey J did something happen to the pics feature??

http://www.brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=63688

whenever you edit, it automatically does < img src>

and < img src> automatically sticks crazycode into the html (making the html not work)

the 3rd pic is posted, but if i go to edit post, it will automatically do the < img src> thing

tchenku, it is because of the quotes you put around it. i will fix it to not transform anything with quotes.
