Signed up for a T-Mobile account today, and tried to get a phone discount. They did a credit check, but couldn't access my credit. Called up, had me confirm info, and whoever runs that crap couldn't access my account either
Called Chase (both my cards are Chase), checked all 3 credit reporting companies.. none have a freeze on me. Where do I go from here?
Credit wise * All payments on time since forever
* Had to replace my card 3 months ago - someone swiped my numbers when I was in Vegas in December and tried to make stupid big purchases in April. Knew it was in Vegas when a dozen $5 hotel transactions occurred. Got that taken care of without problem.
* Had to replace my other card 9 months ago - some asshole at the Durham Mcdonalds swiped my numbers at the drive thru. Another coworker had some fraud purchases on his account the same week, and the only place we both used our card was that.
* Nothing wrong on free credit monitoring (credit karma) 6/14/2013 10:09:00 PM |

So your reports aren't frozen, but the CRAs may have put fraud alerts on your files when that stuff went on with your cards.
Call the CRAs back and see if you can talk to a supervisor.

I thought T-Mobile was a prepaid phone now. 6/16/2013 10:21:00 PM |

It is. But it's weird as shit. The phone discount (which isn't tied to a plan, just pay us 20/month for 24 months), and phone insurance require a credit check. 6/16/2013 10:52:58 PM |

Its not a discount, you are financing the phone and making payments every month. 6/16/2013 11:02:11 PM |

If it's Equifax, call those assholes and hound them until they approve you. You might have to have a 3-way call with T-Mobile and Equifax. Those guys didn't do their job and slowed me down on buying my home. 6/17/2013 7:17:04 PM |

Ugh 2 of them want this in writing. I'm going to Mexico in a week and would really like loss/theft insurance. Freaking pains in the ass 6/18/2013 1:41:13 PM |
