So last night out of no where my left arm went really weak, my hand closed, and started shaking. I could make a fist fine, but when I tried to open my hand and straighten my fingers, my hand started violently shaking.

This morning I noticed right up in my forearm it feels "tight", and my arm feels heavy. The shaking isn't as bad as last night, but it's still shaking. I feel weakness even typing right now.

Anyone have this happen before?

that happens to me at jiu jitsu tournaments

after hours of grappling my muscles fatigue and my hand cramps to the point where i cant even open my fingers up and my hand permanently stays in a fist until i take my other hand and pry it open.

it think it may be a muscular fatigue plus some nutrient deficiency, jus a guess though, but i know that feeling its weird and sucks!

it is definitely a forearm muscle issue, i can feel the it there its definitely the source of the cramps

hope its not a sign of a stroke

It happened during Krav training....

Dr. sad I have a pulled muscle and a pinched radial nerve. Muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory drugs....suppose to keep it out of use for 2 weeks...

I guess I can just punch/block with just my right and then climb with my right side only

I don't understand how you didn't immediately go to the ER.

^ because she's not having a fucking stroke, or meningitis, or a TBI, so there's no reason to clog already overly clogged ER's with something your primary can help you with.

it sounds exactly like a pinched nerve. some motrin and a couple weeks off and she'll be fine.

an er would have given her motrin, flexoril, a consult to neurology... possibly an mri if she bitched enough... oh and a $4000 bill

I play enough sports (Krav Maga, Aerial Silks, Field Hockey, Running, Volleyball) that I kind of ignore most injuries/pain because I really read into "discomfort" vs "sharp pain and immediate danger". I was hoping last night I just hit something weird and was tired...I gave it an overnight then went to a Dr. when symptoms didn't go away.

Kinda sucks. This puts a damper on my happy .

cool, glad we have a doctor here. not everyone is a doctor. clearly the OP didn't know what was going on, and her symptoms were pretty crazy. urgent care if one is open, ER if not.

my uncle died of a heart attack overnight because of reasoning like yours.

shut the fuck up

by my count, TWO people mentioned either "ER" or "hospital"

at least FOUR people mentioned seeking help from some other provider (i.e. they did not mention either ER or Hospital). read much?

oh, and "obviously athletic sub 35 year old female" should not experience something like that, so haha logic fail. stfu

I can to post pinched nerve, but see you found that yourself. This used to happen to me after wrestling practice sometimes, especially if there were a lot of throws/rolls/slams.

having people walk on my back and getting back and neck massage with some advil was how I dealt with it. I never got rid of it until I stopped wrestling.

I thought this thread was about giving weak hand shakes due to having insufficient grip strength.
